I've heard most of this stuff in another recording represented to be from his home studio. I am not going to hazard a guess of whether this is Jimmy noodling around, but I'm pretty certain this was not at Bron-Y-Aur. The piano section is identical to the "home studio" recording and sounds suspiciously like an Eric Satie composition. I've never heard anyone mention a piano at Bron-Y-Aur and it seems like they would have. There are also clicks and switches in this recording that lead me to believe that this was recorded on professional electrical equipment and not the primitive battery operated equipment they would have had to use without electricity.

I don't know. There are definitely several recordings from Jimmy himself towards the beginning of this video, there's no doubt about it. There are many bootlegged box sets available of LZ studio sessions, some of which I've been listening to for years and know by heart. But there is also quite a bit of unfamiliar guitar pieces within this video that I've never heard before, and honestly they do not sound like Page at all. The latter half is not nearly as good as the first half. I'm very skeptical. I know Page's "unofficial" guitar pieces like I know the back of my own hand. I have gotten a hold of nearly every single bootleg with Page on it in existence over the decades. I would bet serious money that, aside from the first half or so, this isn't Page. It seems someone posted a few of Jimmy's studio sessions here in this video but then threw in their own stuff for whatever reason. The latter half is not Page. Sue me. I know my Jimmy. Lol

What is the source of this video? I don't hear anything in this recording that is undeniabley JP. I'm a guitarist of 48 years and can play most Zep songs, many I have obseesed over for years to get down the JP nuances. This track could be JP, the compositions are similar to his style. However, to me it does not sound like Jimmy palying. The picking is uncharacteristic of JP, I hear a lot of twangy up picks and strums that you just don't hear with JP., it is also void of the tell-tale trademark nuances that are unique to Jimmy. Jimmy has a softer touch, this sounds too clunky for JP. Also, the recording quality is very poor with the mic too close to the guitar, it seems unlikely JP would make that recording error. I could post dozens of my recordings and say it was JP and 99%+ of people would not be able to tell the difference. Im going with not JP, JMHO.
