So cool how he saw it as an extension to his art and craft doing a solo album rather than breaking away from LZ. Goes to show what kind of person he is. Jimmy Page is one of the greatest musicians to have ever graced the music scene, a true legend.

Yes and (prior to "Outrider") his work with The Honeydrippers project, The Firm and his Death Wish II soundtrack, and other album appearances were more of the same - just an extension of himself and what he wanted to do..."ever onward" as Pagey likes to say. 👍

In about 1976, a forgotten rock reporter ask if the band was on verge of breaking up. Jimmy got to the point quickly and said, "It would be a criminal act to break up this group". I'm just about 99.9% sure I read it from CIRCUS rock magazine, for l never really cared for Rolling Stone. For Rolling Stone delves off into to politics, etc., he'll a teenager can't vote. So that's why I read CIRCUS, they stuck strictly to rock groups, their touring, record reviews and such.

IMHO, The most damaging thing that happened to JP was the sudden loss of John Bonham. Those two brought the very best out of each other. They were 100% each and 500% combined. Sure, he’s shy and enjoyed himself a great deal in the 70s, but he also accomplished more than anybody. All those fine albums, writing, playing, producing, performing. Really, no individual in the music business did more in that period. He doesn’t owe anyone anything. He made his make. People always want to opine and judge and play doctor, regarding drugs etc. Just silly. He lived a marvelous dream and is walking the Earth today to tell the tale! Tremendous!

Led is the best band of all I have known, Jimmy Page was my best teacher of guitar, but in eyes and ears of everyone, the group was in frank decay, in the descendant, in the last years, the 2 or 3 last albuns were not good if we think they had produced some years ago something like the Led Zeppelin II, III and IV.

I was never aware of how bad his drug use was. Naive indeed. Have read bits in comments made on various channels. I noticed him rubbing his nose s lot and hoping that is a nervous habit or allergies. Am saddened that if there were demons he was trying to escape through whichever drug of choice or his naitivity to try it in the first place. He's brilliant and heard it ruined many a concert. Heart broken indeed..

@@user-eh8eg4hp5t I was lucky enough to see Led Zeppelin in the early days 72 and 73, when they were at their very best! So, my fellow Zep heads and I were very upset to see him so stoned and abusing cocaine, herion plus whisky! He was trying to find a way to be able to do it all, the producing, the music, everything. Sadly when Bonzo passed it nearly killed Jimmy as well. I often wonder what would have happened if Bonzo had lived? Jimmy may have died...or they could have made more wonderful music. We'll never know. Sorry for the rambling. I am so glad Jimmy is still with us and he is the greatest ❤

@@elainemclaughlin9417 not rambling to me. Thank you for the insight. I am a fan of Zep but never knew any inside stories. Just remember an interview with Robert where he said that it was sad that Jimmy did not take better care of himself. Had heard Robert was drunk for many performances so wasn't quite sure what Jimmy was into that made Robert say that about him. I saw an interview of a 16 yr. old Jimmy and he was so self assured, although he wanted to be a research scientist at that time, and then to hear about him losing himself. Thanks again Elaine! Concerning the case of the missing guitar, I still say it was Eric Clapton who lifted it. I saw it in EC's eyes at the ARMS concert and that was before I even heard Jimmy say his guitar was abducted. Someone needs to tell EC that jealousy is a very ugly thing.
@vanshipman
@vanshipman 4 жыл бұрын
Seriously?!?!? Eric didn’t have anything to do with Jimmy, so would have had no access to Jimmy’s guitars, but more importantly, Eric reached out to Jimmy to help him with this benefit. Jimmy was in terrible shape around this time and Eric, along with Jeff Beck wanted to get Jimmy playing again. It was thrilling to see them all 3 playing together, although at that time Jimmy’s playing wasn’t up to par. The London ARMs show was fantastic and Jimmy’s reception made me teary eyed. I really do wish Jimmy would put out a new album of material while we still have him with us, there’s no one else that does it quite like him. I apologize in advance if your statement was a joke btw lol

You jumped to it really quick didn't you? If you watched the concert you may have notice jimmy's ghostly physic, 83 was the last years of heroin abuse for him and 2 years before he fully kicked cocain. Eric and Jeff were trying to help Jimmy the way Pete Townshend helped Eric, he was in obviously the worst shape of his life and his performance that day proved my point. That "eyes" you were talking about is a professional guitarist couldn't believe that his once earth shattering colleague just couldn't seem to notice how out of tune his double neck guitar was, and just sloppy... everything. My God, people are just full of shit!

@@kyluu9731 Jimmy never loses his guitars as they go missing from his studio. Eric C is known as a notorious guitar thief that is particularly fond ,aka, jealous of anything Jimmy owns, including all his guitars and sound equipment/studio, all of his music, his hair, his accent, and all of the excess attention he receives from all women, and well known record corp labels, up to and including, Swan Song, Jimmy and Bobby's private owned record label, in which Eric C sued for all rights and access to, at any and all times of the day and night, also located in Jimmy and Bobby's house. Eric C won the entire law suit, until Ritchie Blackmore sued to get Rainbow back from Jon L, Roger G, and Ian P, via offering to disclose the names, addresses, times, and dates of several public officials involved in the theft of Jimmy's recording studio, on the very same court room and date. Right after Eric C won his suit against Jimmy, Eric C withdrew his suit, and all false allegations and charges against Jimmy were dropped! Jimmy has the same problem with Jeff Beck and his sticky fingers, as well. But what Jeff B, Eric C are not aware of is that Jimmy and Bobby special hidden cameras throughout the studio and entire house, special cameras that cannot be detected by 'visitors' in time, until they look back at house to remember something chased them out of. Although they could not see them, they felt their presence, air, and heard their extremely angered growls. Many predators are scared to death of kitty cat eyes!

Outrider was a major let down for those of us who thought Page had loads of riffs that he had kept secret that he would unleash on his solo project

Jimmy is brilliant. John B and Jason B sound the same only because they use the same drum tracks on the sound board--Jimmy's point that the soundboard is THE reason for major deception in music. Neither JB's can really play the drums, they just mime so they can be adored by the clueless..

Never understood Jimmy’s attraction to Chris Farlowe as a singer. I always thought he was crap.

It's because it is Chris Farlowe who is attracted to Jimmy, and para-siting off of as so many have.

#07/18/2023---Mick Wall, you ain't very nice. That's all I can say about you, other than you are a tormentor. Don't you have anything better to do than to follow Jimmy all over the place, simply just to remind him that everyone steals his stuff?---Mick Wall, I take notice you do this whenever Bobby is not around, and Bobby is ALWAYS around Jimmy for obvious reasons ,and you are one of em'.---
