Corporate control is distant from the storefront so they're not there to accept negotiations. They state their price and walk away, accept it or dont.

​@oxydizeIs5k I don't even have to haggle... near the end of their day, they will straight offer deals trying to keep from throwing stuff out. Learned about that from a convenience store worker. Basically, the pre-cooked stuff has to either be sold or thrown away, and immigrant owners want that money instead of just throwing things out, so although it was insanely unhealthy I'd show up when they were about to have to throw out the giant sausage dogs, they'd normally have 3-4 left and they'd sell em for 50 cents each and it was all the fixings I wanted. It was a midnight snack very frequently in my early 20s lol now I gotten pizzas on discount and even for free from the local convenience store cause people will order them and never show up. Since they close at 10pm they'll do everything in their power not to have to throw it out.

Well. Do that at the antique markets, farmer market, when buying cars livestock or similar items. If you are buying a bunch of stuff for a big renovation at your hardware store you may even get lucky and get a few percent discount. But don’t expect any success at grocery shops.
