OMG, as a gay man who lived through the 80's during my early 20's and losing so many friends (some on weekly basis) during the peak of the HIV/AIDS crisis this brings back so many memories of that time. I celebrate them every day as I'm living the days they never had a chance to. You are awesome Jimmy...like myself, so glad you're still with us!!! On a separate note...As the LGBTQA+, Drag and others are again under attack more than ever by the religious right...I wonder where the anthems are today. We need a lot of "act up" now, more anger, more fighting back. Seems our community has grown apathetic and just not wanting to stand up like we used to. What the hell happened to us? Enough is enough.

@@Leftatalbuquerque Sadly yes...youth sign into pages and apps that they only care about. We seemed to have splinted into groups where if it doesn't effect us directly, why bother. Gay men, lesbian women (don't want to speak for them, so will say "allegedly") got our wins with Marriage Equality. So perhaps, not wanting to "rock the boat" while watching others getting attacked , banned or having rights stripped away? I ponder what will it take to get our community engaged again to fight back. I'm saddened, as it seems all the rights, respect and freedoms we so strongly fought for are being lost so easily by the day. So much blood, sweat and tears are being easily surrendered by so much apathy.

Oh yes, I fully agree with your comment, as I was born in 1968 and experienced almost the same as you, here in France 🙌😘❤️🌈

@dinocub1 Ditto. I was just coming out when the papers labeled it a 'gay cancer'. Then the hell began. Lost my lover and almost everyone else. I honor them all in the fight they fought so hard. Where are you from? I'm in Canada.

Great work! It's great to have this upscale. I hope all Jimmy's vids get similar upscales someday. Gotta say though, that edit at 4:16 was a tad jarring to someone who has listened to the album and single versions so many times, but I understand the need.

LYRICS of "READ MY LIPS" Here we are and standing our ground And we won't be moved by what they say So we'll shout (Shout!) As loud as we can And we'll shout (Shout!) 'Til they hear our demands Money is what we need, not complacency Read my lips and they will tell you Enough is enough is enough is enough Finding cures is not the only solution And it's not a case of sinner absolution So we'll fight (Fight!) For love and with pride And we'll fight (Fight!) Standing together for the Right to live and die with dignity Read my lips and they will tell you Enough is enough is enough is enough The power within We can use it to win So we'll shout (Shout!) As loud as we can And we'll fight (Fight!) 'Til they meet our demands Money is what we need, not complacency Read my lips and they will tell you Enough is enough is enough is enough
