I told an online friend in Kentucky, about how I didn’t have much to do with Brother Swaggert, after he confessed to an extramarital affair. First thing she said to me, was if God forgave him, then we’ve also got to forgive.

What your friend said was very wise! Also, not trying to argue but I don't think of what he did as an affair. To my way of thinking an affair, although definitely a sin, involves a certain amount of affection and emotion between the two people involved. What he did with that woman or those women, regardless of how many times it happened-seems more like an impersonal business transaction: services provided for a fee-but still a serious sin. (Just my opinion.) Our God is a forgiving God and I am so thankful that He is because I have done some very stupid and sinful things in my life, especially when I was much younger!🙏 ✝️
