I miss these older Jimmy Swaggart message ministries. His ministry helped me get through a lot of personal challenges back then. I used to rush home from church to watch his church and messages on television, his ministry help me to continue my walk in Christ Jesus, I loved seeing the people in his congregation sit with each other in peace and acceptance of one another, he was on his way to be as vast as any mega church today. I have yet to see any other pastor since preach the way he did. I cried many days when he fell. I miss his original ministry. The Lord can change you over night-im 43 years old and out of them 43 years 20 of them i spent in prison and in institutions by the works of drugs and bad judgement-and even though I've never hurt anyone -man-women-or child-only myself.ive spent years in salutary confinement with no one only myself and my inner demons-the only book I had in that cell was the bible-i laid on my rack and would stare up at the ceiling and the walls would drip water just like Jimmy said -the water would drip all over my head and bed and walls as well as the floor -id still sit in that cell with no place to go and still i never picked up that bible one time-i was living in hell the whole time -my mind would play tricks on me so bad -i felt like a monster-i felt like God didn't see me that he has over looked me-i didn't know that was the devil's work-after years of being locked away i finally was set free and even though I was free from the prison bars with no more metal doors and concreat floors i still was imprisoned in my mind and i was stuck in the devil's grip-i got out of prison and went right back to doing the works of the wrong because that's the only way I could servive-thats the only way I knew-today jimmy brought me to jesus-today I picked up my bible and put down the drugs-even though that's the only i survive financially i won't go back because today im in God's hands and he will find away-i have a cash app and if anyone wants to help me help myself it's $GoneRotti -just the way it's write.my my name has the letters RG ..i am washed clean by the blood of Jesus christ and my new brothers and sisters will work with jesus..thank you for the help I love each and everyone of you..today I quit drugs and God will find away for me to pay my bills

That's a yes and no answer. Everybody has a calling from The Lord. Once you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, where do you go from here ? Now that you have received Jesus , you need to grow. That's where other preachers come in. God has called other preachers to teach the church about Faith. The bible tells us; without Faith ,it is impossible to please God. The just shall walk by Faith. You do realize; there's a difference between Faith and believe ? There are other preachers that teach ; How to pray. Most christians are ignorant on how to pray. You know they're ignorant. Because they pray ; if it be thy will, when they pray over a sick body. And when the person doesn't get healed but dies instead. They say, well I guess it wasn't God's will to heal uncle john. God , I wish I could get into the topic on prayer, and how it works. But it's too lengthy. Anyway, jimmy was a great preacher when it came to salvation. Off on other topics. Too bad he fell twice. When he fell, even the 1st time. Think of the damages he caused to the church, he destroyed his reputation, not to mention the damages he caused to his own marriage. I mean he gave himself a huge black eye.

He still made millions ripping off gullible people with this materialistic TV gospel rubbish. There's a nice lyric, "The God I believe in isn't short on cash, mister". This is also the guy who got caught fucking a prostitute, made a big theatrical fake public apology which his gullible followers bought... and then did it again. Really admirable.

@@zendakk ... About your response. I could get into it, but why? NO, I'm not coming to Jimmy's defense. I'm just talking about the money part. Like I said; Jimmy was right on target on The Salvation part, but way off target on other topics. I heard one message from him, he was against drinking any alcoholic beverages. Only how do you explain Jesus turned water in wine. I've heard preachers and Christians say; it didn't contain any alcohol in it. But they are the ones reading that into that. Too bad I can't get into that ( too Lengthy ). How do they explain Paul tells Timothy stop drinking water, drink "a little " wine for your stomach sakes. Why tell me to drink a little wine, if drinking it is sin ? But I do agree with him on Salvation. Anyway, Have a great day.
