For anyone interested in knowing how those lawsuits went apparently the parents had to sign some pretty scumy contracts that made them exempt from a lawsuit this in includes injury’s, sickness and even DEATH! So when all was said and done the parents had no way of getting compensation.

These Kid Nation reactions have been fun...it is amazing that the whole thing seemed like a good idea. But don't get too freaked out by the whole legal issue of the makers of the show having custody of the kids...after all, Parents in the USA send their kids off to summer camp in huge numbers...and that includes many "roughing it" camps. There is no doubt that sending 8 and 9 year old kids to live in near wilderness conditions like an abandoned town is pretty questionable, but it is not surprising that the lawyers for the show were able to craft a contract that the Parents would sign. 🖖✌
