Nope, because in five of the six world finals he faced either Steve Davis or Stephen Hendry, two of the greatest modern day players ever and greatest of all time.

I know why you are saying that, but no. Imagine if you had put the cue ball tight against the rail on either of the diamonds below (as we look at it) the two balls that are together, those being the red three and green six. Do you think that you can play the cue ball along the rail and hit the green six ball without hitting the red three ball first? If not then Jimmy could only have been hitting the red three ball first.

The commentator explained what happened there. Jimmy was trying to use the bridge in its higher position or setting, in order to raise the butt-end of his cue and spin the cue ball to swerve around the orange five. He could hit the right-hand side of the yellow one ball easily enough, but he was hoping to bend around the orange five ball to hit the left-hand side of the yellow one ball, which is the side he needed to hit to pocket it.
