I spent my summers on the Chesapeake Bay. Our family inherited a small cottage in a small community there and we spent our first 2 years there when we got married. I love listening to the waves late at night. Best thing to fall asleep to.😊

It's so nice to have you visiting our area . Sonoma/ Napa has so many wineries ...you should visit the actual winery where they grow and harvest the wine ... I've been to many wineries over the years... I've never tasted (,or would want to) wine that tastes like butter or anything else than good quality wine. Be careful in SFO ... don't leave your bikes anywhere ...even locked Same goes for your van ⚠️ Luv you guys have fun ...the rain is gone now for a week or so 🙏

As a resident of Sonoma County (near Napa) but originally from a more rural and simple agricultural area, I can appreciate your experience with Napa. Wine is very much an acquired taste and most wine enthusiasts probably had the same impression as you in the beginning. In time you would develop a real appreciation for wine and almost an addiction. Having that said, wine is not for everyone and you will save yourself a ton of money if you avoid becoming a wine enthusiast which is a wonderful disease but still a disease of sorts. Just kidding, however, I am afflicted as are many residents of this region of California. What is more important is the process of discovery and trying new experiences. I really enjoy the adventure you are seeking and I think many of your followers truly enjoy living vicariously through your travels. Get well and keep on venturing into the unknown! Thanks for sharing your journey.

As someone who has grown up on California wines, served award winning ones in restaurants and been trained in fine dining work, the whole idea of these certain flavors and after tastes is in the "pairing", meaning knowing what wines to select and serve with certain dishes of food in order to compliment the flavors of the dish. It's an art in itself but not for everyone. At least you had a fun time trying it out, that's all that matters.

Hi Natalie and Jimmy, I was raised in Northern California and loved to visit Napa and tour the Wineries. These tours are very informative and quite fun. You get to see how the wine is made, the process, and taste 👅 many types of wine. glad to see you visited Napa Valley and tasted some wine. However, you should really go to the wineries and taste their specialty wines and champagne 🥂. These include Whites usually dry, and reds. My favorites are the dark red wines. If you get on the right road you can go from Winery to Winery. Get yourself a guide at visitor center. Good luck 🍀.

Last time I went to NAPA I didn't get past the V. Sattui Winery. Because they had the best wine and I had to take a nap before driving back to Martinez, where I was staying. I told myself, self, next time you go to NAPA, you need to do it on a bus tour then you would not have to worry about driving. I urge you guys to go to V. Sattui Winery, best wine hands down.

If you decided to try some wine tasting again think about doing so up here in Walla Walla WA. Most of the wineries have tasting all within walking distance of each other on the main couple streets in town plus if you like u can sign up for tasting tours where they take u around by bus/vans to see the wineries themselves etc. Don't know if they make them in Napa but you can get chocolate covered wine grapes here which are a much better use for them in many cases IMHO. They make regular chocolate cover raisins taste so plain.

I’m from Paris, France. My family came from the Burgundy Region of France - hearty red wines can be found here. Don’t get caught up in the wine snobby life. If it taste good to you then buy it. I now live in Florida and travel in a converted 2013 Ford Transit Connect. I always try to stay with Harvest Host for wine time.🍷

May I add a funny event in my life ? When I was young ie 24 years old, Both my very best friend and I were blindfolded and we were asked to taste two wines and to answer two obvious questions : a) White or red wine ? b) either Bordeaux wine or Beaujolais wine ...... Our answers were completely false ! We had 2 White wines ... all of them from the Bordeaux area ! So please, don't fill stupid with wines ! Even people with experience could be fully misled ! Very few are able to be recognized as true expert ! ( and even Worldwide recognized experts were fooled at least once in their life !)

They seemed to offer a particular suite of sweet and specialty white wines. I would suggest going somewhere to try a tasting of red wines before you fully write off wine. I like wine but find fewer whites that I legit like, especially in the affordable price range.

I'm partial to Riesling style wines myself. Light and refreshing, a little sweet, not dry, and usually with fruity notes. Come check out the East End vineyards out here on Long Island, NY. Glad to see you're feeling better and out having fun.

Watching your Napa video and thought I'd share some thoughts on your wine experience. Napa is really famous for its Cabernet Savignon and its Chardonnay. The super "buttery" popcorn wine is a type of Chardonnay made in Napa, would have liked you to try something less buttery like Chablis, which is Chardonnay that has spent less time in wood casks. You also should have been trying the wine with food, one of the best ways to enjoy wine. Thanks for sharing these peeks into your life

I hope you visit my hometown of Monterey. Nice bike trail right along the ocean. Must see Old Fisherman's Wharf. If you do go Fyi my grandma worked at the Monterey Bay Canning Co. The boulding is still there on Cannery Row that ends at the aquarium. One more fun place Dennis the Menace playground.

And ditch the flavored wine in favor of really good vintages of the classics. As you may have guessed, I do like my wine!

🍷 Don’t give up on learning more about wines. I doubt if anyone has ever learned to appreciate wine via butter or bubblegum flavored. 😜A good Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio or Pinot Noir would be a great place to start. My very favorite is Cakebread Cellars wine. It may be a bit pricey and perhaps hard to find by the glass but it is truly a lovely wine. 🍷

Before I moved to Sudbury to live with Adam I worked at a winery as a tasting associate in the Niagara region which is a huge wine region in Canada. Not all people are wine people I'm not a wine person but I like Moscato and I'd definitely be down to try that butter flavored. Otherwise I only use wine like Merlot or Cabernet for my spaghetti sauce and white wine is good for clams with butter and garlic 😋😋😋

Natalie I agree with you on the after taste of butter or even the bubble gum etc. I was not much of a wine drinker when I did drink. I was a beer and vodka drinker. I did like trying the different vodkas. I did like a good dry red wine. We live about an hour or so from the area there and have never been wine tasting while there. That tells you how much I like wine. Another fun video. Myself I would rather be by the ocean like you were when you were sick. Hope you make it south to Pismo and Monterey. Safe travels.

Very glad that you are recovered from the flu. I'm not a big fan of wine, but beer is another story. You should stop at a craft brewery taproom and try a flight of their beers like a IPA, porter, pale ale, and a blonde, etc. Someone once said that "beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." Once attributed to Ben Franklin but is disputed now.

Don't feel bad. I have tried to like wine but just haven't been able to. Might be because i'm alcohol intolerant. I find sparkling grape juice does just fine for me. So far i've found red, white, rose, and sangria. And then there is sparkling cider... regular, blush, apple peach. Yum
