For the Long Beach incident, I don't think OP can be fully blamed. The other car never cleared them, and the other car had a slow down from cutting the previous corner. You shouldn't be fighting to hold your position when you have a slow down to serve.
@joshiMOTOjordan110 күн бұрын
10:05 my problem here is, yes absolutely in racing terms shouldn't be diving up the inside and shoving him out the way but the guy has 2.5 seconds of pens and is clearly going to keep pushing him off everytime he attempts the pass. What the player car did was probably the one way to get through, because I think he would of just been taken out otherwise. Know that's not right to do but in sim racing it's a genuine problem, can't just sit behind him cause the guy in 3rd could catch up.
@hypezzyy10 күн бұрын
I fully agree with this. The unfortunate thing is that that's a typical Forza lobby for ya. Bunch of egotistical guys that will spend every living second making sure ur race goes to 💩 if they're race is ruined. Plus I wouldn't just sit behind and wait for an opportunity to pass a guy with a 2.5 sec penalty trying to murder me just to keep 1st place. Like if you're gonna ram me I'ma ram you back. Clean racing is always advised but sometimes you can't just take a beating from some dude who can't handle being passed when he's the one who signed up for it. Gotta let people know that you don't take that bs

TBH the first time I saw that move I didn't have a problem with it. After Jimmy explained why he had a problem with it, I still didn't have a problem with it. Maybe it's just as well I don't compete in simracing.
@EpsilonUnitGaming10 күн бұрын
Yeah, pushing me off on a straight is the one thing I won’t forgive on forza. People can be assholes, sure, but mistakes happen a lot in forza multiplayer with its really wide skill gap in races. You can’t know what’s intentional or not, except someone literally driving you off the track on a straight.
@AXIDNT6610 күн бұрын
@@katrinapaton5283 I pretty much agree. Jimmy's take is right in real life racing for sure and for obvious reasons it's best for everyone if we treat sims like they are real life racing of course, but that's also a bit idealistic. If they had no-braked or rammed off the road or whatever in retaliation it would be a big nono, but leaning on someone in a corner who just leaned on you on a straight isn't unreasonable, especially in something like Forza or GT. Like it's not good, but it is what it is sometimes.

8:38 Gotta disagree with you on this one, Jimmer. The entire clip prior to contact, the two cars are alongside one another (and the outside car, as you note, had to cut a corner to maintain that). Once two cars are alongside one another, they owe each other space until one car is fully clear of the other- or that's how the rules read to me, anyway. Mr. Orange Parfait turns across McQueen's nose, not giving him space to remain on track. Therefore, it's his fault, not McQueen's, BOTH for cutting track for advantage AND for failing to allow space to a car alongside.
@Top_gear202110 күн бұрын
Yeah I was gonna say, there's nothing really the Mcqueen car can do, they were along side, the porsche cuts the corner to stay ahead I guess and turns across his nose.
@thegraynoah10 күн бұрын
Yeah, was weird how he got that so wrong. Lightning was there, and the other guy had a slowdown most likely and should've given the place back anyway for cutting the corner. If anything I'd blame the guy on the outside for cutting the track and chopping someone's nose off. In that sequence anyway, if he keeps the outside he'll keep the place anyway out of the last turn. No reason to risk pitting yourself.

9:33 Red car was on the left right by the red line (track limit) all along did not make a move. The black/white/orange car on the right tries to take the apex as if the red car did not exist. Somehow it's the fault of the red car? Both cars had a small overlap from the start of the clip until the contact
@meekrab902710 күн бұрын
I agree with you, the red car is fine, orange just turned across for no reason. Shouldn't be surprising since they just completely cut the previous apex.
@unfortunately_fortunate200010 күн бұрын
not only that the other porsche turns in on McQueen like he wasn't there after having had cut the previous corner to draw further ahead... obviously, that is the fault of the car who never strayed off line, didn't leave the track & didn't do anything but try and take the corner at the angle he was forced into.
@peterhineinlegen467210 күн бұрын
He actually said "make that move." What move Jimmy? Being hit from the side is a move now. There could never be a pass at a corner if you look at it like that. Just one clip ago he was saying you have to leave room. Which is it?

I'd also argue for the Orange car to be at fault. He cut the corner previously, which is already a penalty, and then turned across the guy like he didn't exist. I have to disagree on the Lightning McQueen incident. The orange car essentially gained the place illegally with the cut. At the same time, McQueen never really lost the position throughout, had the inside of the corner, and was squeezed tight. I can't say for sure if McQueen would have made the corner cleanly, but the orange essentially crossed in front of his path at the braking zone, and McQueen had no noncollision options.

6:40 The rule is that pit starters must be behind ALL CARS at the pit limiter off cones (determined by the green cones that let you turn off your pit limiter). LMP3 is at fault and can be protested. In a normal race though iirc the pit exit car has right of way until they pass the merge line where it becomes normal, it's not treated like a rejoin basically. (This came up in a league I was in due to the interlagos limiter line being miles ahead of the merge point, I emailed nim jr himself and that was his clarification. So trust me I know, and shoutout to nim for getting my 30s penalty removed.)

"The rule is that pit starters must be behind ALL CARS at the pit limiter off cones" I don't understand what is being said here. The LMP3 appears to be behind the cars, or very nearly so as it crosses the green cones. Are you saying that he is supposed to limit his speed here and and remain behind the cars until he merges? I swear that while watching IMSA and WEC multi-class endurance racing the announcers have commented on cars exiting pit lane and that they have right away inside the solid line. I don't see how the LMP3 is at fault, the Mclaren crossed the white line.

It could just be a bad decision made in frustration. I was in a nascar league years ago, and while leading I got wrecked by a lapper. I was fuming, rejoined like an idiot and ruined someone else’s race. Dude was so kind he wasn’t even mad but I still felt terrible about it. I wasn’t even mad at the lapper anymore, but at myself. So I’d wager in that moment, they’re focused on the wreck that just happened and not thinking about rejoining safely. That doesn’t make it ok, but if they learn from it like I did, it’s understandable and forgivable.

At 11:40 , while I’m less experienced than you personally I disagree with the verdict. While the POV car definitely isn’t blameless, I feel that their inside move, while insanely aggressive, looked reasonable. They definitely wouldn’t have stayed that tight to the inside without contact, but I think they’d have still made the corner. And I don’t think they’d drove at the other car, the other car turned in on them. Even if you are correct in your judgement that that was a barge pass, for me the other car was more malicious in the clip, so saying that the POV car is just as bad is a little harsh

Live to fight another corner. In the next clip, I think the car that cut the course also turned in like he... didn't just cut the course, and spun himself off the nose of McQueen. I will give the Glickenhaus Hypercar-I mean LMP3 leaving the pits the benefit of the doubt. They could have the very typical LMP3 FOV where the A Pillar is blocking their view to the right cause it’s THICCCCC and probably couldn’t see the McLaren to the right of em until last second and just didn’t react in time which judging by the brake lockup just as they make contact I’m assuming is what happened. Still would’ve been at fault for the most part, but it’d be a bit more understandable. Though tbf I’m not sure what the rule is at Daytona for crossing over the blend line when a car is leaving the pits, at least if we’re going with irl rules. Since tbf the McLaren when hearing “car on your left” could’ve gave the LMP3 space since they’re coming out of the pits or assumed the LMP3 would back out or just wasn’t paying attention or was going by their own rules or just didn’t realize the car exiting the pits was an LMP3, idk what was on the McLaren’s mind. But for the most part. LMP3 driver, you’re cursed to driving the Glickenhaus in LMU.

Seeing one of my LMP2 livery designs in the thumbnail was a bit terrifying! Disclaimer: I cannot be held responsible for the actions of any helmet using my liveries. Especially the Cowboy Bebop ones!😂😂

Doesn't the sporting code say that if you start from the pit lane you technically have to exit after the last class of cars?

Funny and infotaining as always, though given recent events I was hoping for more dad jokes

The scariest sight in iRacing is an f1 livery

the one with the Porsche and Corvette in Forza should be sentenced to 20 laps of the Nordschleiffe in one of those stacker cars where one guy controls throttle/brakes and the other controls steering

6:20 - we can say, that purple GT has no fold in this situation... if only the racing cars HAD NO mirrors. He could get his spotter warning "car inside" too late. He could watch at the spotlight on track. But i think he was just heavy breathing and cheering after this carnage. And.... BOOM So every time, just think for yourself AND THE OTHER GUY!

I caused an iRacing incident today. Lost it on the start of the final big curve at Road Atlanta and couldn't get off the track to clear the way, took out the leader who was about to lap me. Guys were pretty sympathetic but I have never felt stupider on iRacing.
