The author does like to kzbin.infoUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

I thought you could put a magnet on the end of the flap and on the case where it lands. I'm not sure if the leather is thick enough though for a magnet to be recessed into it. I have some magnets that are about 1-2mm thick. I could definitely see me using one of these for my Galaxy Tablet. Something simple like a leather sleeve to protect the screen when I put it in my bag.

Interesting video, I've been messing around with leather as well, didn't think of using a wooden mould, one thing I did find useful was putting a press stud base on the thick outer layer on one side and 2 riviets for a belt loop on the other, then adding a thinner leather liner in between to keep them away from the phone. Would have to do it prestretching and not sure it'd work with this technique though? Thank you good food for thought when I get chance to try it.

possibly a silly question, but why not use the laser to make the stitching holes? just a note that with the laser you can also engrave on the leather as well to personalize/label the cases.

Awesome video as always! May I suggest molding the leather before stitching, also molding them using something like plastic rather than wood. Doing it this way helps leave a more uniform molded shape and won't damage the leather or stitching in the process of molding. This would also allow you to dye or even line the inside of the leather easier and better.

The first bandsaw cut I was thinking 'whaaat' but as soon as you started the second cut I thought 'that is a clever approach'. Sewing before it's wet molded makes so much sense! Would rounding the edges of the cam form be a good idea? ...or might it become too loose?
