My first was Return of the Living Dead, followed somewhat closely by Phantasm. Unfortunately I had already seen Friday the 13th before seeing Halloween. As a result, it came across far too similar and did not strike the fear so many others were fortunate to experience. I get more stress from the Halloween movies than fear. But you are correct. It was a very brilliantly done movie. I can not judge the sequels however as I have never watched any of them. But I am certain they are great in their own rights.

And my parents went out for the evening. I was petrified! Part two is even worse then one. I was too scared to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, by myself for over a year! My God, can this woman STILL kick @$$! Having a mother at the center of what will always be film's most iconic horror sequence of all time isn't something many people could ever expect to live up to. Few of Hollywood's children have succeeded in pulling themselves out from under their parents' shadow; so many either turn to drugs or fade into obscurity. Jamie, however, pulled it off and has remained relevant for decades in an industry that chews even beloved actresses up and spits them out. Against all odds, she has more than earned her place next to her mother in film history.
