Some directors that are notoriously assholes tend to create their own producers because they're hard to work with. It can go to boycotts and stuff,I mean,you don't see Oliver Stone or Terrence Malick running into many oscars or big awards,getting huge promotion, etc,and they are assholes with a capital A

7 years later--I just realized that Matt Damon was telling Guillermo "I'm getting on the show tonight!" and he really did. Their was a Jimmy Kimmel ep after the Oscars that night and Ben Affleck "snuck" Matt Damon onto the show. What a legend bragging about the crime before he commits it.
