I had no desire initially to see this movie because as a black American, I know the story of Emmet and Maime Till VERY WELL. And I’m honestly tired of the movies and media surrounding Black Death and suffering. BUT after seeing that short clip of Danielle and from hearing all the buzz about her performance, I think I want to see it. She went off on that clip! And I like her personality! 🤎

Can’t put my finger on it, but is there any actresses that Danielle Deadwyler reminds anyone of past or present in the Till trailer? Presently I can’t think of anyone but I see the old school Hollywood intensity and style of a Bette Davis or Joan Crawford. Anyone see that too or any other actresses she reminds you of?

She has a very distinct Old Hollywood intensity in her style and in the emotion shown in her eyes just like they had in the past. And agreed, yes at the same time I definitely do see the comparison of Cicely Tyson and Diahann Carrol too in Danielle Deadwyler’s acting as well. It’s very obvious they were both a huge influence on her craft. I would say Cicely’s influence in particular is very apparent in many aspects of Danielle’s acting in many roles. I see Cicely Tyson’s influence on Viola Davis, Angela Bassett and now on Danielle
