If you read in his book, he was terribly crushed when Star Wars first came out because no one seemed to care about him. When he was in costume they would treat him like a prop, sometimes forgetting that there is an actual human in there. He even had a chair with his name on it but he couldn't sit down in the Threepio costume. Someone eventually got rid of the chair and when he asked where it went they were like "Anthony Daniels never showed up so we removed his chair." Poor guy :(

Joseph Brennan honestly I would say they are talented, from the start it should have been a success if we are simply looking at their resources available. Where the RofS went wrong is it didn't have a roadmap and to many restrictions on its story. I will admit the movie did leave a hardcore Star Wars fan like me dissatisfied because it had potential in so many areas of the movies, but ultimately execution was poor leaving me disappointed and the lore disrespected.
