Great video! I got one of these last Fall and while we didn't get as much snow as usual this winter in Chicagoland, it worked GREAT on what we did get. I'm now going to drain out the break-in oil it came with and get it ready for next season. Your video was a great help in simplifying that process.

For us women who have no clue is there a place that states tools and their sizes needed to perform these tasks ? My Manuel does not say. Btw EXCELLENT video !

I believe the manual shows either 10W30 regular engine oil or 5W30 Full Synthetic/ regular oil based or the weather temperature

The spark plug should last the life of that machine. But hey, it's your money. Champion likes you. My riding lawn mower was over twenty yrs old and original plugs were fine and it ran perfect. If your gonna change plugs like that you need to use anti size on threads. Always use it on plugs going into aluminum cylinder heads. Hopeful you get yours out next time without stripping the threads. I'm planning to buy one of those Snowmaster snowblowers this yr.

Hi Jimmy! What is the contraption you're using at 7:45 to capture the oil?
@JimmyLewisMows4 жыл бұрын
Hey! That's just a plastic oil draining pan. I think I picked it up from Walmart a couple of years ago. When it's full I'll find a place to recycle the oil and grab a new one. They're super cheap and really handy to have around.

I still run a Toro 724 I got in 1984 (Tecumseh). Always used 5W30.

Just bought the same machine. Suggestion, blow compressed air around fill hole before removing plug. Remove plug prior to draining to allow a faster process and a complete process. Take extreme care that NOTHING can fall into the fill hole. Use anti-seize on the threads of the spark plug to assure an easy removal next time. When starting to thread in the new plug acquire a hose to fit tight over top of the plug and begin the threading with that to protect from cross threading. Nice job. :) (A empty milk carton can also be used as a catch for the old oil, use a funnel fitting in to the top of milk jug to catch the oil, then easy to take to the recycle location.)

Ding! Don't be afraid to pull on and wiggle it LOL. Does it work as good as advertised? Also, I always measure my new oil in measuring cup so I don't have to guess.

When using this blower, does it clean down to the concrete pretty well or does it leave about and inch or two?
@internetonsetadd4 жыл бұрын
I just used it on my asphalt driveway. It was day-old, wet snow and the 724 QXE cleaned to the surface except in some uneven areas. Any slush that was left melted away in the sun. I tried to help a neighbor with their driveway but they had it back plowed (poorly) and it was too compacted for the machine.

The toro 724 qxe and 824 qxe are identical except for the engine sizes.The amount of oil and spark plugs are different between the two models due to engine size differences.

Service interval for the spark plug (from the Toro manual you mentioned) is 100 hours. Unless you are using this machine commercially, (which is definitely not what it's meant for), there is no way in heck you have 100 hours on that machine. Your used oil's "almost like new appearance" will attest to that. Although I would agree to change oil every year, regardless. And your spark plug looked just fine...normal brown color. I understand you are probably just someone like me who probably likes to overdo it on maintenance, but this step most likely did not need to be done yet. Just sayin'... you just want to make simple DIY videos. Good video for when people actually need to do these things. I seem to own all the same equipment that you do too!
