Great Video Jimmy! That tent is really cool, I've seen them around, but this is the first video I saw that shows how they work. It is great that you can unhook it and take off with the 4Runner. I hear you about the chest waders...I know a guy whose best friend drowned here on the American River fly fishing, got too deep into the river and his waders filled up. The shots of the river, mountains and beaver dam were beautiful! Wish I was there....

Hi Steve and thank you my friend! Yes the filling up of chest waders is definitely a thing. It happenes at least once a year around here. Nasty way to go. I'd rather be eaten by a grizzly 😃

Setup might be your problem; however, water entering via a seam IS A TENT PROBLEM! It shows the seams are not coated to be water tight. It can be fixed, just get some seal sealer for a tent, but it should have been coated from the factory! What if that end was in deeper water? Ok video on the point if someone gets a Napier tent, after setting up the first time, get some seam sealer and run it along the seams. Most sporting goods and Walmart sell, and yes, available on Amazon.

Just curious, is the bottom seals not being stretched out enough to have water runoff the only thing that was a waterproof issue? Sounds like the rest of the tent did pretty good, other than the area you didn't stretch out to stake down? Also, can you enclose the tent that has the trunk open? While the tent is still over the car trunk? I did see you show that you can zip up the tent if you have to leave, but didn't know if that could be done with the tent still over the car trunk. Also, does the entrance into the tent, from outside the car have 1 or 2 zippers? Thank you for taking the time to talk about these kind of tents. I'm still trying to figure out if I want a separate tent or a car tent.

Water inside your tent is a fail. Period. Don't believe for a second a good tent will take on water just because the floor is not pegged. Seams shouldn't leak like that, that is a lot of water. Trout fishing looks great though. Gorgeous spot.

@jreton8971 Жыл бұрын
Price about 2/3 less than when first came out. Reasonable now. Ideal on my 6 month solo cross country trip. I am in 70's. Recommend additional 6' x 12' awing along passenger side for privacy, bring extra paracord for easier solo set up & kiddy foam carpeting squares to tent floor for warmth & keep moisture away. If tent set up taut & good footprint makes heavy rains more comfortable.

Mr. Meatwhistle, you really need to silicone spray that seam. It shouldn't leak even if was lifted up. They didn't sow in the sealing strip I'm guessing.

Good tip. Yeah they possibly missed that, the tent is $300 Canadian so it's pretty cheap. But that also makes it that much cooler 😃
@judyjrasmussen3392 жыл бұрын
Seam seal those lower seals. Also can’t see quite if it’s a bathtub floor from these images. If not & seam sits right at ground level, you will have issues due to design. That would be a shame for the price of these tents.
