The other two, though, are something that you will have to get used to. The other two are your fans and you better learn how to deal with them and appreciate them, cause once slighted, you got nobody on your side: they are the guy who screams "Play Stairway to Heaven!!!" and the hang-around and talk your ear off as represented by the "kids are gonna love this" and "ooh, can you do a back flip." You have to learn to walk the line of a quick "thank you" or nod and then ignore them. So, friendly without being friends. Yikes, this entire video practically sums up why FreeRunning is considered a problem by so many people. - "Gasp! They don't want to let strangers use their privately maintained property as a gymnasium? I can't stand these sorts of people!" Yeah... and I bet the property owners feel exactly the same in reverse, except, they aren't the ones going out of their way to trespass and introduce liability into someone else's life and space. They just want to be left the hell alone. - "Security is always in the wrong and makes themselves look bad...." says the entitled fella who literally NEEDS to be told to leave multiple times before having to escalate because runners refuse to. THEY are doing their job, while runners willingly make that job harder. - "I hate it went they put these rocks all over the walls!" Well, I'm sure they might use a different material... if they wanted their walls to be playgrounds. Surprise! They built the wall to serve the purpose it was built for instead, apparently having to redesign some constructions to prevent entitled runners from ruining them. Those little rocks you say give you better grip for feet work? Yeah I bet the owner loooves went your shoes sheer off a bunch of those rocks and erode the wall at a much faster pace... Dude, respect and all that, but this video only worsens the image of free runners. This is the opposite of helping, and if any property owner wishes to protect themselves from entitled people (runners included) we have absolutely no right to judge them for doing so. Imagine if someone were to start jumping around all over your recording studio and wouldn't stop unless physically made to... not cool. Also... wear gloves and pads dude, we have technology already in place to solve many of these injury related issues. Those injuries are a conscious choice at this point.

So, from my medical knowlage I can say that „ankle thing” is muscles in your foot/ankle are streched more then usually, thats why you are in pain, and if it happens a lot you might „rip” your muscles in, basicly it means that your muscles streched so muchh they couldn’t take it any longer, so they rip apart, it might take them couple of days to heal, up to a week. The problem with private property owners is that freerunners are very happy to spend hours jumping on things that were not built to support those kinds of impact repeatedly. Maybe your group will jump on that rail a few dozen times in a session. That's no big deal. But you will come back another day, and another day and another one. And between your group's sessions other groups with the same idea will do the same. All this repeated stress will gradually damage the rail. Did you ever reach to a property owner and offer to participate in the necessary repairs? You want property owners to let you in? Just show them you take responsibility for your actions and cover the cost of the damage you make. And that's also true with the city council for public areas.

@@monkeybandit222 The issue is, mutual respect. Why does anti-climb paint get used? Because you free-ran all over the building multiple times in spite of the owner of the building being annoyed by it. This means showing a disregard for others, considering his ability to use a building as a playground to be greater in importance than a building owner's desire for him not to use their building as a playground. And then he gets annoyed when someone is standing in a spot that is generally out of the way while on a phone. He may be able to pass that spot because he's a free runner, but normal people walking through the area? They can't pass through that spot, so standing there is as out of the way and considerate as possible. But it gets in his way, and he hates being impeded. He's an ass.

As someone who works on their own machines, I can say that gloves are the worst thing when trying to grab onto/hold small things. In my case, nuts, bolts, and some tools. In the case of freerunning, it would be ledges, posts, and railings. Gloves may be protect your hands, but even in 10 degree weather I find myself taking my gloves off to grab things, because gloves just make it harder. Also consider how freerunners wear loose fitting pants and shirts to be able to move more freely. Gloves, even if they increased grip, decrease your flexibility, and therefore your ability to to various things as easily as bare hands.
