The Poem for Home:
As I walk through the rooms of this now vast empty house,
Memories flicker upon the old white walls-
The place I found purpose,
The different ceilings that watched me grow from a child.
The midnight sky now masks it all in a tint of greyish blue.
No furniture nor family remain where once was-
Only an old lamp and chair left in what was once my room.
As I walk, I write down the melodies that I hear passing through.
Forming a different song for each unique chamber.
The first one I named "You," and the last, "Creation."
Oh, how I long to return, if only for one minute more.
But now, I must say my last goodbye.
Stepping out the front door, I take one final glance back,
Embracing a sight I will never see again.
Yet in my head, I will always have my home.
