I'm not sure I get how Roaring on Suicune with max boosts in that endgame does anything to progress. He needed to just keep pressing Surf and hope for a crit, no?

If I read the situation right, roaring into Dugtrio gives Suicune a free Surf on whatever switches in, otherwise Milotic/Blissey just stay on full health forever. Also it saves Surf PP, not that Suicune ever had a chance of PP stalling both of them. Of course roaring into Milotic loses the game but his options were pretty bad either way. ABR just had the technology.

game 2 the difference with dding was that abr only had to hit 1 rock slide as opposed to 2 so 90% chance to win the game vs 81%

Salamence with bulk can live Rock Slide. Even DD EQ doesn't kill Tyranitar with bulk, as you saw. If the Salamence didn't dragon dance back, then Tyranitar definitely outspeeds and definitely KOs.

It stops mence from winning by using earthquake twice, since mence can live a rockslide. This worked because he was running a bulky ttar which can live a +1 EQ.
