Sample size of 1. Haven't experienced this and neither have any of the many Staccato shooters I know or have trained with because they know to use the proper magazines and base pads. It's not a design issue. There has always been an issue of potential over insertion with extended mags in 1911s and 2011s. They are designed around the standard capacity mags not the extended mags. The base pad is not a band aid for a "design flaw", it's what you need to safely use extended mags.

Been shooting STIs in USPSA since 90s, now own 3 Staccatos - not only are you rehashing a phantom issue but youre about a couple years late to "reveal" this over hyped so-called flaw. If youd been paying attention you would have been aware how to correctly do a slide lock reload, or if really concerned you could have paid attention and purchased some basepads along w the Staccato aquisitions. This sob story "breaking news" video sounds like an ad for Monsoons grip module ???

Isn't "over-insertion" an issue with 2011s as a general rule? From what I have heard, when doing a reload on a 2011, you have to pause ever so slightly between getting the mag to the magwell and inserting to prevent this issue. Someone with experience please correct me if I'm wrong here.
@Mastersnake392
@Mastersnake392 Жыл бұрын
To my knowledge it can be, but from I've heard the Staccato P shouldn't have the issue with their 17 and 20 round magazines since the base pads interface to the bottom of the magwell to prevent over insertion.

Beretta 92 imo in general is one of the closest guns I’ve shot in terms of how well it recoils and get back on target to a 2011. The 92 XI is a sao with a frame safety. Might be the closest option. The Langdon P30 sounds awesome. I love the LEM trigger. It’s not as crisp and nice as a 2011 or CZ, but it’s good enough for combat/carry and imo is the best hammer fired trigger system if you don’t want to run a safety Then there’s CZ. Great guns, can tune them to be super crisp and super fast.

I am someone who has never liked Gucci glocks and aftermarket parts, I’ve always felt like you sacrifice ruggedness when you start using lightweight parts and cutting off metal. I have also always been a fan of metal frame guns, they just seem to shoot better. That said, I think the m&p 2.0 is a no brainer. Between the grip angle & texture, the serrations, optic compatibility, I could go on and on. I run the metal and it’s the perfect factory handgun.

1) Sounds like you are saying "current" staccato's should not require a "proprietary" base plate for mags to function correctly but should accept ALL 2011 mags from previous staccato (and STI) 2011's without causing feed problems as shown in video (?), 2) for the FIRST TIME in my firearms' owning experience, I don't have this problem (fist pump), but can definitely sympathize as I know what it's like to be FOOKED, 3) note that metal grips sold by Vulcan Machine Works start at about $750 (ouch), so "maybe", buying the 10-8 or Staccato base plates is a viable solution after all (?). The BIG take-a-way from your video is that STACCATO should include a notice and/or reference to a video which informs the prospective buyer and/or owner of the "problem", with detailed guidance on how to resolve it so they DON'T damage ejector (etc). Buying almost any product these days is like navigating a MINE FIELD, no matter how much $$$ you spend.

P365XL isn't micro, let's be honest. The P365 is micro, while the P365XL is approaching a G19 footprint, while being slim. If you look at them on Handgun Hero, you see that the Glock mag baseplate protrudes, but the bottom edge of the grips are almost identical. The main advantage is width and a bit of length saved (although the G19 wasn't difficult to carry barrel length wise). I do love the P365 though, and it's ability to become exactly what you want.

Definitely a click bait title… m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXenp6ydd61_f5I&pp=ygUdQXRsYXMgbWFnYXppbmUgb3ZlciBpbnNlcnRpb24%3D I’m not 100% sure because I don’t have one personally (different manufacturer), yet it’s not a Staccato only issue. Other manufacturers have the same problem and there’s only a few ways around it. Either way if someone uses an extended 26+rnd magazine the potential is there to over insert. I’d have to see an Atlas/other manufacturer up close to see if they designed that part at a different angle/spec to completely remove the issue. Overall again with an extended magazine I don’t see them being able to avoid the issue. If the slide locks back in competition, the person has done something wrong. Even from a tactical perspective if it runs empty something went wrong. It’s quite possible that slide lock reloads have been a bit over popularized. Again those trying to do well in competition don’t run completely empty and if at all possible tactical people top off proactively not reactively to oh the slide locked back.

You should carry the Hi-Point C9 and get a red dot mounted on it.

I'm ditching my Staccato C2 but for different reasons and going back to straight Glocks.

Please explain why you are leaving the C2 and heading back to Glock.

@@Trade_and_Shoot The C2 is a great gun. But I’m stuck using Glock for work as it is and for my my G19 is 10x easier to conceal than the similarly sized C2. I regret getting a C2 over a P sized model as it isn’t as good as a P size for competition. It just does a lot less for me with a lot of money tied up into it.
