It's sad but I guess the main reason this happens is because it sells, it makes him money and people make videos laughing at it. So it's a pretty win-win situation. I realise this isn't remotely a franchise in any way but consider it like the FNAF games series - If it never got any traction, do you think a second or third would have been made? It's the glory of the internet and videos such as this. I'm not for a second blaming Jim, you have to scratch your head at Sony. Maybe they do it because it's funny? Haha.

Except with FNAF as an example, you might know it's creator released over 70 obscure, unsuccessful games before finding success with FNAF. Some of them sequels to other unsuccessful games. All sorts of creators, whether that be musicians or artists or game developers, will keep doing things that aren't really doing it for them financially because they have ideas or "talents" they want to put out in the world. With the way Gilson slaps his name all over these games, it would not be surprising in the least to me if he is that sort, the sort of creator with tons of game ideas and passion that he wants to share regardless of the financial (and other) realities of the situation.

@@SteveVedder122 When I signed up to be a developer with Xbox, the process wasn't particularly tricky - A small games design document to prove the concept and/or what you were going to release and away you go. Although core implementations of their required features can be difficult. Nintendo seem especially tricky to get onto the platform, unless they've lessened their requirements as of now. I'm unaware on the Sony side, as I've never tried. (As their European branch is like finding a needle in a haystack, I had heard it is much easier to develop for than the Xbox side. @Tenjoubito I could have used any series as an example, as you say but then again he's found a way to easily make money without much effort, irrespective of skill. It's like going to an ATM machine, you knowing a code which gives you free money. You only do it every so often, you know it's bad but it's just easy for you. This isn't like DigiHom, who don't care about the quality of their products and just want to make as many as possible. There's a deliberate methodology behind these, Gilson is just really dedicated to making exactly this. And clearly he isn't... untalented. He could probably get hired by an actual studio if he wanted, because he clearly has the baseline skills required to code, he just needs some actual direction and to be on a team of people who can cover up the rest of his mistakes. "In the 12th century of the Heian period..." *screams in Historian*
@Patrick-Phelan3 жыл бұрын
I didn't know the Heian era was that long!
@NeutralDrow3 жыл бұрын
@@Patrick-Phelan I mean...in retrospect I guess it makes some sense if you read that as "the 1100s" (in which case the game is about the Gempei War) instead of "the Heian period lasting 3x as long." So I probably should have screamed in Grammarian, instead. Also, the emperor was very specifically doing the opposite of rising during the time.

Me: Mom, can I get Ghost of Tsushima? Mom: We got Ghost of Tsushima at home. Ghost of Tsushima at home: Old meme but still pretty good.
@legorogue3 жыл бұрын
Why the fuck is KZbin saying this is Ghost of Tsushima? There's no footage of it here, and Jim doesn't mention it.

Welp. Time to comment, like, and favorite this video for engagement just to piss off Gilson.

"Belongs spit on" is an anagram of Gilson B. Pontes. This belongs spit on, indeed.

Well, in a way it's like with Wiseau: At least he's doing what he does instead of being a serial killer.

I absolutely love these rambly review videos with tangents about random stuff like Transformers. Because this is how my brain works a lot of times XD

Maybe they’re all part of an anthology series with unique stories and characters in each entry but have similar overarching themes of dying in one hit

My man GIlson has an IMDB page: Gilson B. Pontes is a director, producer, writer, composer, editor, and video game designer, known for Taishogun: The Rise of Emperor (2021), Shadow the Ronin (2020), Samael the Legacy of Ophiuchus (2019), Sword of Fortress the Onomuzim (2018), and Spear of Destiny the Kaiseki (2017). He has a great fascination for classic American cinema and has as it's your biggest reference, Orson Welles.

Getting the impression that Pontes is making these games as a funding scam. Can't think for the life of me any other reason why he's been able to make three of these monstrosities. 🤦♂️

He is probably making enough as a scam like asylum ripping of movies, who to their credit, can be even somewhat good weird, and z-nation, ther they actually trued and got amazing in a zunique great zomb series with a rocky start. Recommend genuinly znation. Loo an episode in season 2 or 3 mybe first, rocky start. Its a legit business model making cheap knockoffs selling them cheap.

I'm sure Gilson is fuming right now..... ooh, and changing his soiled underwear, thankful Jim didn't take him to court and win the lawsuit, rendering Gilson nothing more than a meme.
