I don't agree with Lord Jamar. Yeh, Hip Hop has an African source, but Hip Hop is for everybody who needs a voice. An Asian kid in America is a natural for Hip Hop. Speak for them Jin.
@hushg20008 жыл бұрын
Hip-Hop is Black and Latin predominately, that's what he meant by his assessment. It started with us, and he was just making sure people haven't forgotten. I don't believe he was excluding. Just informing.
@flinmonkey10 жыл бұрын
Jin been around the battle scene since mid 90's but didnt get his breakout till 2001 on 106. I think the world just wasn't ready to accept a asian rapper and thats y he never got that much exposure and blew up like other new artist today. To me, He was a great battle rapper but ok on main stream music. His cd " The rest his history" will always be a classic in my books tho. Alot of these new kids that says they never heard of him must be new to the rap scene, probably when wayne Lollipop came out they started listenin to rap. HAHA. Mad respect for JIN tho, seems like even tho he left rap battles, he found happiness during sumthing he love with no regrets. Forever a fan, Jin tha emcee.

2:53 - 3:20 man he is so right about that. thats a lesson ive learned and in this battle rap shit lot of niggas dont get this. lot of them just wanna proclaim that they are the best while it doesnt matter at all what u think of urself. do what u do and let others judge. thats why jin stay so humble.

I feel like this man is a cautionary tale for all non-Black artists in hip hop. I respect Jin, man, he is going to see a lot of negative "fell-off" type hate. I also felt he is a little hard on himself or creating answers for our "the publics" questions.

So true with the Heatmakerz making a beat that works for him, instead someone like Wyclef, West and Blaze who probably save the best for themselves or other more famous clients like Jay-Z. I met Jin after he signed the deal with double R out in Atlanta where I was there to open up for him before he did his showcase. Chill and suggested to him that he should get Premo for a beat since I figured the boom bap style with samples would fit.

@EvaAnika8 жыл бұрын
Javid Bencosme I think the point is that he said turning everything Chinese into a caricature, instead of him being a dope MC because he's a dope MC. It's just like back in the day, black Comics made it seem like the only thing they could do jokes about was being black. But the reality is they were three dimensional people, and should have have been able to joke about anything. Yet they were expected to condescend to just one part of their identity.
