Visiting a mosque in China, hear what Chinese Muslims say!

While traveling in Inner Mongolia, Me and my friend @somenuance stopped at the city Bayannur in which Hui ethnic group makes up the majority of the population. There are 44 mosques across the city and we decided to visit one and tried to understand what their lives are like, understand more about their culture.
With the permission of the Imam, I entered the mosque with a hijab on, observed how they pray, and shoot in the mosque. More importantly, I had the opportunity to have a honest conversation with the religious staffs and believers too.

It's interesting to know that even my Muslim brother in China is aware of what happens all around the world, the stereotyping of Muslims with terrorism, and how Western people think that Muslims are just Arab and they all were terrorists. In fact, even though I'm a native of north Borneo, a Dayak living in a rural area, many Westerners would think that I must be animistic, shamanistic, pantheistic, or any other. Our Chinese Muslims have a very high level of culture and are very tolerant and hospitable. We Chinese Muslims identify very much with our motherland and we are proud to be Chinese. In our hearts the motherland always comes first, not religion. So first we are Chinese and second we are Muslims. Foreign Muslims, on the other hand, mostly put religion first, they are convinced that religion is more important than homeland and law, which is why most Muslim countries are ignorant and backward, full of war and chaos.

Whenever something is happening around the world. Look for people that are on the ground in those areas and watch their videos. Because they tell the truth, compared to the MSM who are controlled by the government. In the last year, I've come across so many KZbinrs living in China, I now just ignore everything that the MSM is saying and I choose to believe the KZbinrs. But the best thing which I am glad with is the expression of realities , which Imam mentioned about the origins of Al qaeda and Taliban , who has been created by America, Britain,and some reactionary countries, to create problems in Sentral Asian countries, as well they take advantages of creating destabilizing in the vicinity of Russia and China. I want to tell a story of my hometown, Chengdu, a city of 20 million people, most of which are Han Chinese, with a very, very small portion of Hui & Uyghur Muslims. Back in the 90s, the Muslims lived reletively separate from the Hans in Chengdu. We didn't have any problems against them, but we also knew very little about them. We published a book, in which there was a joke about Muslims and pork. It was very rude, very ignorant and insensitive. The Muslims protested. Our city government listened, and decided that there's nothing to be done except for the sincerest form of apology. So they built a big mosque at the city center, right next to our central plaza. And guess what, the city is very comfortable with it. The only lesson we took away from that incident was that other people's traditions we shouldn't make fun of, it doesn't even occur to us that this architecture represented something different from us... it only occured to me after watching various religious conflicts on KZbin. And the muslims in that mosque are just as kind as the imam in the video. When I was little I used to going inside the mosque to play in their yard with playmates, because the roofs are pretty in our eyes. Never once were we asked to leave, they just tolerated us warmly. Till today I still know very little about the Muslim religion. That brief explanation of the sage's instruction told by the imam is very beautiful. I don't understand how some other people believing in the same thing can become terrorists. I'm happy that China has banned islamophobia since the Xinjiang terrorist attacks. An appropriate law for a turbulent time.

MashaAllah the beauty of Islam is that even if you go to China or any other country the routine is the same like adhan ,iqamaha ,imam and the no. Of rakaa or even ramadhan. You don't have to start from zero as long as long you know the quran and hadith guidelines about prayers . Pre COVID the number of Chinese tourist traveling abroad was around 154 million and after their holiday they all returned to China. Unfortunately non Muslims can't enter Makkah but that's where you'll meet all nations and creeds. Alhamdulillah I've met many Chinese and other ethnic groups on my trip to Mecca. @@salilnair8000 you can learn islam first before you go there. Simply if you don't agree with Islam, why do you wana go there. Thousands of mosques are around the world and dawah centers you can go there and learn and observe Muslim and Islam. It's Allah's command that non believers cannot enter Makkah. so we can not intentially violate this command . Again it's a place of worship not a tourist place. This is the way the sanctity of this place of worship can be preserved. If you really want to know Islam, I encourage you to go nearby mosque or dawah centre, they will help you with all your questions.
