Honestly, I’m planning on going to college in the US and have started my applications. Back then I mostly just looked at the bright side of things but recently I’ve started to question lots of things; will I make friends, how will I stay connected with family, will I be able to cook on my own…etc. seeing this video on my suggestions made me realize that at some point, as you’ve mentioned, we’ll live in solitude for the latter parts of our lives, but the real important part of being in solitude is how we take it in ourselves. Last year I celebrated my 20th alone in New Zealand. My birthday is At Christmas Eve. I wasn’t able to come back to my hometown due to the covid situation and I wasn’t able to celebrate with my friends and family for 1.5 years. Sure the year before I celebrated it with my friends family which I was very fortunate. But last year as I had no where to go and all my flatmates went back to their homes for Christmas and I was all by myself. And as my 20th I did similarly to what you did. Treating myself with food. Writing letters to my parents/friends to show my love when I can’t give to them physically. Reading books and drawing. Shopping and getting spoiled. But often when the day is done I’m left with this loneliness. And I guess it’s the fact that I really dislike that I’m all by myself especially when I’ve hit the big number two. It’s a mixed feeling. Or Im just not comfortable in myself. But seeing you to live optimistically and well, must’ve shown that you truly love yourself being alone, and persevering the subconscious. And maybe one day I can achieve it too when I am lonely at my eventful times. Glad to come across this video and empthaize ❤️❤️❤️

I am always afraid of what other think of me... but I think being independent is such a nice way to look at it, because yes travelling alone is a very independent thing to do tbh. God i loved this video soo much! I turned 21 today and to my surprise no one wished me, not a single wish even when i wish my friends. i dont have a lot of friends but the one i do i expected a small message atleast and this is 3rd year in a row no one did idk why... but this taught me one lesson today that only thing that matters and loves by all their heart is our family. my parents and my sister wished and danced with me and its so amazing that family loves us soo much. I hope everyone realizes this and even though some people may have very nice friends but family is something who will be by your side till the end no matter what.

This might be an unwanted comment but can I ask if they know your birthdate? I found that sometimes “friends” either don’t know, are not sure or just are too emerged in their own life problems that they forget. And I know it’s unfair if you remember their birthday. But what you could do is let them know the day or a few days before so it’s on their mind. But if they actually know and choose not to wish you a happy birthday, then you’re absolutely right and I’m sorry it’s happened to you for 3 years. It means nothing and it’s a bit late but happy birthday to you ✨

OMG i used to think her as an american with korean origins (after seeing her cook so many korean food in daily life). quite surprising to me when hearing the voicemails in cantonese (i guess?!) from her parents. but this video is just so lovely. btw you had a great booking for the last luxury hotel. sometimes we need to indulge ourselves a bit for special occasion.
