Just FYI, a brief intro about the song and its background. The song's name is Huaxin (画心)，it is famous for as the OST of the movie Painted Skin (画皮). This movie is tearjerker. It tells the story that in ancient times, there was a couple, general and his wife, lived very happily until one day the general saved a girl, named Wei, from battle field. She was extremely gorgeous and beautiful but she is not human. She used her witchcraft to make everyone believe Mrs General is a monster who took other people's lives and turned Mrs General into a gray hair monster who can not speak. She confused the General and let him kill the "monster", which is his wife. In the last second he could not kill her but tell everyone even if she was a monster he would still love her. And eventually, Wei was moved by their love and ended herself to save everyone.

This song is from the movie ‘Painted Skin’ starring Zhou Xun. The name of the song in Chinese is 劃心 which rimes with 挖心. The meaning of 挖心 is scooping out your heart from your body by hand. This is exactly what Zhou Xun’s character did in the movie because she is a demon and she had to consume human heart in order to survive. But only one man changed her mind and she fell in love with him. No more spoilers, go watch it. There’s also a sequel which completed the story, ‘Painted skin: resurrection’, which is free on KZbin.

In the film, the selfish fox monster falls in love with the human general, but turns the general's wife into an ugly monster. The general must choose between beauty and goodness. At the same time, it shows the difference between the two women's selfish love and selfless love for the general.

Kids are so flexible when exposed to different cultures and arts. Can't speak for others but I absolutely enjoy her musical works. Very relaxing too, depending on the ballads. The folklore Chinese ones are so melodic and convey so much imagery.
