Jinjiang Wudianshi

Jinjiang Wudianshi Traditional Block, located in Qingyang center area of Jinjiang city, called
"Wudianshi" since 1300 years ago back to
Kaiyuan years of Tang dynasty, is the cradle of Jinjiang city.
The buildings in Wudianshi were built up and down along the side of Plum Mountain and the pattern of streets has been retained intact. There are more than 100 historical buildings of different ages from Ming and Qing dynasty to the Republic of China era and modern period with the diversity of buildings such as residential houses, shops, ancestral halls and temples. The colorful residential buildings, including the rammed earth buildings, traditional Southern-Fujian "imperial palace style" red brick buildings and western style buildings with Chinese and western architectural elements, have formed a grand view garden of red-brick buildings of Southern Fujian. Intangible cultural heritage such as Gaojia opera, puppet show, Nanyin Music, folk beliefs, ancestor worshipping ritual and festival customs have been inherited in this area. Five out of the "Eight Cultural Landscapes of Qingyang " can be found in this zone.
Today, by introducing cultural industry model and highlighting three cultural elements including Southern-Fujian style ancient architectural culture, folk customs and intangible cultural heritage, people is building a whole new Southern Fujian cultural and touring zone and a lounge of Jinjiang city to present the traditional culture, folk custom, scenic spots, recreation and entertainment, food and delights of the city.
