This monologue is actually a staple in many local drag shows. Local drag performers also weave in spoken bits into their lip sync songs to make them more interesting and to add humor. I love Jinx, but Monet killed this. Her movements felt sharper and each of them punctuated her sentence (like air quotes for sister, gesturing to herself for congeniality, that baton was on fire, the clapping for ovation) instead of feeling like arm waving to keep it interesting and her expressions matched the tone far better (that "FLAMES" punctuation was so good), Jinx's little smile I think threw it off for me. I can’t believe they didn’t do this before!!! it should’ve happen a long time ago because spoken word is so common on drag performances. I’m patiently waiting for the “This Stuff” (Blue Sweater) Monologue on the devils wear Prada or Maleficent’s Curse by Angelina Jolie. This really showcases the real talent to do a lipsync and having acting and memory skills. It’s just so hard it’s so good. Monet KILLED IT!!

Monet gave me Sheryl Lee Ralph! Best lip sync in history and it was the first. I don't know how many times I've watched this over and over. The way Monet took her gloves off at the beginning, to how she stop Jinkx from talking with her hand while walking across the stage or how she ended it. She's a beast. 👌🏾👏🏾
