ppl in indonesia not eating it often cuz its a share food. but i can eat it alone. me as Indonesian even shock when the owner put that much butter. and the price is too expensive 90k ? can feed u 3 meal for 2 days. i used to buy 10k - 20k for martabak

it suppose to for family portion. like 2 slice each person. also yea thats too much butter. if it come from better and famous seller the taste will be 5x better and not that much butter and condensed milk. still high calories tho.

Martabak manis original name is terang bulang meaning moonlight. It's not like nowadays too much ingridient, before it is a delicate food basically thick pancake but not like these day.

terang bulan is not even the original name. hoklopan is the original name which means the hoklo (hokkien) people cake

It's actually Hoklopan that came first, then became Martabak Manis in Bangka, after that, Terang Bulan came last after they touch Java island.

the downside of Indonesian street food is that almost all street food snacks do not have the same standards.. unlike in Japan and Korea where at least the worst taste has a standard. so it will not be possible to get bad food, at least the taste is as imagined according to what we know. different from in Indonesia, only local people know where the proper sellers provide delicious and quality snacks. because on the street there are too many people selling martabak but they don't know how martabak really is, so only those that already have a big name and franchise sell.

as an indonesian, me personally doesn't like martabak with a many toppings and margarine. that's horrendous lol, just add a normal topping like cheese and condensed milk or cheese and choco sprinkles. but not too much, remember not too much.

it's Margarine not butter. Isn't margarine different with butter? Margarine contains lower fat than butter, But in this case that much amount of margarine absolutely gonna kill you Even though i'm indonesian i avoided some Indonesian cuisine, cause they contains A LOT of sugar and fat No wonder most of Indonesian died because of stroke, heart attack, diabet, cancer, etc
