As I said many times, Jinwoo is my No 1 MC just because of his character! That's what I loved in this manhwa when I read it and believe me, I'm the kind of reader that will start a manga or manhwa or anime based on the MC's looks. The fact that Jinwoo made me fall for him mostly for his inner thoughts, character, attitude is what makes him No 1 for me, well it's Jinwoo and Ichigo from Bleach tbh...I love both of them!

@@blewfn2514Yeah the anime didn't really touch up on it but that whole umbrella thing was actually about the system giving jinwoo seemingly inconsequential items that actually become useful later. In the novel, alongside his rewards he would be given items like a pen which he later used when a nurse forget her pen to write with. It showcases the system's seemingly odd ability to predict what jinwoo might need in the future. Jinwoo, picking up on this strange but convenient peculiarity of the system, decides to give the umbrella the system gave him to his sister instead as he thought she'll need it more than he will.

Guy on the left - those guys had to die for 2 reasons, both regarding self-defence: 1. They were going to kill Jin-woo. They told him - "we are going to kill you". They attacked him with weapons and magic. That is basic self-defence. He was morally and legally justified. 2. The system was going to kill him. If he didn't kill them, he dies. To argue he shouldn't have killed them is stupid and actually quite immoral. You're basically arguing innocent victims should not be able to defend themselves against violent attackers. He can't just "put them in prison". Remember who that guy's brother is? Strings could be pulled. Also there is no evidence of their previous killings or attempted murder of Jin-woo. They'd go free.

The somber music in that last massacre was fucking PERFECT! It really reflects how Jinwoo isn't fighting the hunters, this isn't an action scene, he doesn't WANT to kill them, he's being forced by their actions and "The System" to kill them or he will simply die. He isn't playing with them, torturing them, or mocking them, he is simply reacting to their actions. Even for a character like Jinwoo, who has been taught again and again and again that in the world of hunters, power is absolute, it's all that matters, he struggles at first with killing his fellow man, if they hadn't been such murderous douche-canoes he could never have done it, though of course, if they were just normal hunters he never would have received that Urgent Quest. It's bloody incredible character work and only a TASTE of what is coming down the road, good GOD I love when a show is faithful to a well written novel, you can really feel how focused the story is on exploring the character of Jinwoo as he experiences these horrors.

I think pyschologically its more complicated then it would even normally be due to the whole, quest/system thing. Even without that, its a fair, well they are actually trying to kill you, so you have no choice. But the system thing means he absolutely has no choice. In theory, you could try to Armin your way out of the situation and maybe talk them down. But he can't. If he does, he dies, because the quest is saying so. And since he knows damn well he should be dead already if it wasn't for the system... then theres obviously truth in what it says I guess. Its definately a darker turn though I feel. Its kind of like what Yuji says in JJK. Once you kill... it becomes an option and its forever, always an option. EDIT: On that music thing, there are quite a few, but it depends on the fight. The Demon Slayer scene famous for it does it because its an exceptionally emotionally driven story beat in a fight. The fight is epic, but its trying to pull on the whole emotion of him remembering his father and his family. The same applies here I feel. Its an amazing song, but its almost sad? Its meant to be more then just "Oh this is sick and hype." Its reflecting the fact that, for all what his doing looks fucking amazing... he is straight up murdering 6 people. His also recognising that his power is pretty fucked and not just a "lucky blessing" but something that is shaping him into a tool for something. JJK music is also amazing imo. Infact, quite alot of the fight tracks do have lyrics (just not, powerful ballard or choir like ones). There also are some non-upbeat electronicy songs in that show too (off the top of my head, Gojo vs Toji round two has one, and the last Nanami Shibuya arc fight has a beautiful piece playing)

For instance, even if an e-rank would devote himself to a harsh training, he will never be as strong as a D-rank(with jinwoo as an exception because of the system). Purely an anime watcher here so just speculating, I'm sure you guys are right about the system having some morally patchy stuff going on lmao So far though, like in this scene while it seems kinda "dark" or whatever to have him kill the others, it's doing so purely out of necessity for survival. Either he kills them and walks out alive, or he dies due to them attacking, that seems to be how its playing out in my mind. He does say "The system is using me", so I'm sure its more than just that but at least as of now it appears to just be like transcribing what is happening to him in a quest/mission format

Just a heads up, in episode 6 of House of the dragon, the actresses portraying Rhaenyra and Alicent are replaced with older actresses due to a significant time jump. I mention this because many reactors are confused when the episode starts and they see new actresses in these roles. Don't worry, it's not a spoiler, in the trailer of the show they already show us the new actresses and they already let us know about the change, but many people didn't see the trailer and are super confused at the beginning of episode 6.

it's interesting "aniki" is being translated to boss, it makes sense for how scared he is I suppose but it means "big brother" and can be used between friends or for a little kid to an older guy. At least that's my understanding. I've never studied korean but that sort of thing is super common in manwah and culture, I'm not Japanese but I can't think of a similar word for "boss" that isn't honored or respectable, I know Korean has one that's neutral. Japanese is a little more specific with word use, so he cant just call him bos (bosu) because thats like, an office boss or something and would be strange to say. It's weird the translated sub makes more sense, just found that interesting.
