Well... I have been a long suffering league of legends players for quite a few years during my spare time. I've always loved how there was such lore about this game and stories to read so when they annonced the Arcane show I was convinced that It was a massive potential & I can tell you I have been blown away by the quality of the show, the animation, especially the writing of the characters. I really cross my fingers for a season 2.

I don't care what anyone says, Silco was a fantastic character! There are no words that would be able to do him justice. Neither Ella Purnell's acting for Jinx. Both undoubtedly deserve awards for their performance. Also, lovely edit and captures the emotion that was provoked in each scene for Jinx.

I agree, other shows should really look into trying to make characters as dynamic and well rounded as he was. he was a villain sure (at least it matters on how you look at it) but most shows seem to think that a villain or antagonist can only be bad, Silco on the other hand had a lot of good traits as well, he was the embodiment of unconditional love to Jinx, he also planned to free people from oppression, creating their own nation. he did have some bad traits as well, creating a drug empire for one, but in the end that was all a means to a goal, If my memory serves correct he even told Jayce in the last episode that he was ending production on Shimmer, just to free the city of Zuan. If every show could have a well rounded villain like he is, well, I don't think we would have as many disappointing shows, and a lot of shows would improve by a thousand times I'm sure.

RIP Silco. He was such a fleshed out character with incredible depth and personality. I loved him as a mob boss, mayor of a lawless city, a vengeful enemy, and a father trying to do his best for his daughter. The way he carried himself based on what he was doing, as if he put different shoes on, down to the way he talked based on who he was talking to. He was incredible in every aspect. His voice actor did an amazing job and so did whoever designed/created him. Now that's how you make a villain, although it you understand his character well enough, it's hard to call him that.

Until you remember that he was killing people or having people killed, and using child labor, willingly polluting the undercity with shimmer to the point where people were literally mutating and devloping massive tumors and shit lol. Thats pretty evil. He just had the capcity to love his adopted daughter who would have been fine if he hadnt of tried to kill their adopted father, Vander. I get people sympathizing with what they dealt with in the undercity, but that doesn't excuse the atrocities that were committed by him both direct and indirectly. All that aside, great writing and definitely well fleshed out. The best villains are the ones we can sympathize with. They have depth to them. Arcane was absolutely amazing.

@@EpicSongTime Exactly. He's still human. Perhaps under different circumstances he would have been a different person. Its impossible to say. Too many what ifs and a whole lot of speculation. Its hard not to feel sorry for him in regards to Jinx, until you see the clues relating to Jinx, some subtle, some not so much pointing to how toxic his relationship with her is. There's a lot of depth to his character, and thats just good writing. Most of the characters in Arcane are.very well fleshed out and aside from all the fantasy stuff. A lot of the interactions seem pretty realistic and genuine.

the fact that, Silco betrayed his brother like friend Vander in order to achieve his life long goal, sacrificing anything and anyone along the way and yet could never do the same to Jinx and willing to let go of the Zaun he dreamed for her, made him one of the best character in the story~ the way they wrote the story and made you care about each characters death is extremely phenomenal~

I think you got it wrong, Silco never really betrayed Vander. Vander was the one who initially betrayed Silco, and Silco succesfully got vengance and along with that, got rid of the only person that was bothering with his dream goals even though he respected and loved a Vander as a old brother.

They were fighting for independence of undercity Zaun. But Vander backstabbed Silco and made a deal with Piltover. The deal restricted free trade, travel, stripped Zaun from all it's resources, and caused heavy discrimination. If not for slimy Vanders betrayal Zaun wouldn't be in this sorry state. Silco's revenge is absolutely justified.

Not giving up your daughter to Piltover. There are so many parallels. He was just about to have a moment of redemption... When he was killed, by his own daughter, his own creation. How poetically so. God damn. I hope Season 2 ends on a brighter note. I want to see some happiness...

This video would be what jinx dreams of every night, the ghost of her past chasing her and all the events that traumatized her and made her what she is now, a disastrous girl that ruins every thing around her. Riot did an amazing job at representing Jinx the girl that everyone from league thought was just crazy for no reason. That video was the best you could ever do for this character. The rythm in the last part as the song goes faster was one of your best editing ever, really felt like a rush of blood to the head even watching this. I don't even play the game but this video might be my new favorite, it was perfect from start to finish. And that second part, so much depth and emotions, such an original song that put your video full circle. What a unique vibe you gave to those last three episodes. It was not as dark as some moments were but instead bittersweet which makes it even better !

She would never have been the same Powder, but without Vi dumping her the second time around, there would have been a healthy, interesting Jinx-Powder symbiosis. Having Vi, it seems to me, would have allowed Jinx to partially forgive herself, since Vi was the one who blamed her. As it is, we get a completely unambiguous personality: lonely, twisted, and angry. I'll be glad if her new personality is still interesting and not universally evil.

I have been a Vi main for years...ever since she came out pretty much. After watching Arcane though, while I like to play Vi and love her gauntlets, I understand Jinx a lot more. My life was similar in some ways, and I just relate a lot more to her than to Vi. Same with Singed...how he isolates himself most of the time and focuses on science. Pretty much where I am now. I watched the show for Vi, but ended up really enjoying Jinx, Jayce, Singed, and Viktors' stories. Jinx was the best, but honestly, I don't know how they packed in so many great stories into 9 episodes...it's quite an accomplishment. Game of Thrones did something similar but it took them several years. I hope they keep going like this, not only multiple seasons but perhaps multiple shows about other cities, then they can have crossover episodes, etc...make a whole universe like MCU and DCU have.

It was funny to see Silco finally understanding Vander. The reason why Vander back down on the revolution. That's what kids do to their parents... everything is for them, and you would never, ever, gave up on them... not for anything. Silco was a great character. Dare to say he wasn't even a villain. He risked his position of power to have the independence of his people, his city, but he would never give Jinx to the real villains... the Piltover bureaucrats. But when he pushed them to realize that the people of Zaun needed and wanted their independence. they voted for it... but it was too late.

From a bunch of first time writers, this show is so good. The story is dripping with lore, love and care and the story makes everyone responsible for the little things that spiral into larger events. If Powder didn't overload on the hextech crystals, she would still have her family and friends. If Violet didn't distance herself from Jinx and stuck by her, they'd still be sisters. If Caitlyn just stood back and let the two reconnect, Jinx wouldn't believe that she was being replaced. If Silco had just told VI that she was causing Jinx's nightmares to act up instead of pointing the gun. So many what ifs but none of them could be predicted, no one could have known what would happen. Such a great story that shows what love and care can make when you're not trying to sell 15 dollar skins. Hats off to you, writers. You've returned the fan's love, both those who know the lore and those who don't, with such marvelous colors.

That ending killed me 😭 Say what you want about Slico. He was a scumbag, killer, and the list goes on. But this series made me feel for that man and his connection to Jinx. He wasn't your one dimensional villains that most series use. Silco had depth, motivation, and some development towards the end with his relationship with Jinx. When we all get that reveal that Silco is the one who was killed made that moment so heavy. Yes, he turned Jinx into a serial killer 🤣 no excuse. But the honesty he shared with her in his dying moments was so twistedly beautiful lol. He really loved that girl and accepted her in his own way. Jinx wasn't a tool and Silco wasn't lying at all. Vi didn't understand Jinx because she was still attracted to the idea of "Powder". Ekko ((Who is the MVP of the series)) even stated that "Powder" is gone but the look on Vi's face couldn't handle that realization. I was crying at the end of that episode because the emotional tension was so high 😢. Damn you Silco for making me feel like that lmao 🤣. That was his daughter and he loved her in his own fucked up way. Vi couldn't accept Jinx but Silco did. The pain of betrayal bonded them and forged something that was powerful between the two. Silco flooding the undercity with Shimmer was despicable but he had hopes for a better future because his past was so horrible. He was a demented savior, who's path was paved in destruction. Which made me so conflicted when he died. On top of that he stayed true to Jinx and was telling the truth. When he said " Topsiders offered me everything. Independence, a seat at the table. All in exchange for you. THEY CAN ALL BURN!! Everyone betrays us Jinx. Vander. Her. They will never understand. It's only us. You're my daughter and I'll never forsake you." 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 "I never would have given you to them. Not for anything. Don't cry 😢. You're perfect." 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 My heart broke in pieces so small they could fit in the eye of a needle 🪡 💔 😢. Even when he has everything he could ask for right in front of him, he still choose Jinx. He choose is psychopathic killer daughter over his dreams of a free nation. A monster with a heart. Wow. "We'll show them. We'll show them all." That last one really echoed in my head. Because while some people look at Jinx or Silco and see evil and darkness. In reality they were just two BROKEN people in a world that only showed them pain and suffering. The Topsiders never understood what it was like beneath them and honestly they didn't really care. Until that monster under their beds grew teeth and claws.

Vi believes Jinx is a facade and Powder is still in there, that those are two separate entities and all she needs is to wake them up. Silco believe Jinx should kill Powder, as if it's this weakness living inside of Jinx. In Ekko's mind, Powder is already dead But non of them would accept Powder is Jinx. Powder didn't die, she didn't go away - that's what she became. Expect for those who loved her, accepting ger death is easier than accepting Jinx.

I can't really described of how beautifully animated and brilliantly produced this show has been. No other television animated series (besides Star Wars: The Clone Wars) has grasped my attention and managed to evoke every single emotion stored inside of me until the very end. What I love about this show is how it deeply dives into the lives of diverse characters from various backgrounds. How perfectly-written every character development is as each individual's story converges and builds off of one another for far better or worse. I never been so immersed where the world building is hilariously simple... is actually the depiction of reality with no filter and plot armor. The world feels real and the characters feels alive, the pain and struggles they undergo to accomplish one's goal feels relatable. THE ANIMATION. THE MUSIC. THE STORY. THIS IS A MASTERCLASS WORK OF ART!

Having watched both, Arcane is better in my opinion. Invincible is amazing, but Arcane has done numerous things that I've never seen to be done on TV. Literally such a breath of fresh air from the garbage that's been released this year.

Oh god, the you they spliced these two scenes together is so fucking sad but good You had Powder running up to Vi after the explosion that killed Vander saying "Vi it worked! It finally worked!!" with Vi being really upset, but immediately cut to her running up to Jinx on top of the water silo when she had gotten out of prison and embracing Jinx, it was a good cut that showed what could have been prevented if only Vi had hugged Jinx instead of slapping her and yelling at her and running away That one moment that defined Jinx's trauma and turned her into what she is. If only Vi had been understanding and showed Jinx compassion in that first moment, but the second hug ended up meaning almost nothing. Great edit and timing on that. This whole video is awesome.

It strikes me that so many people call Silco manipulative since Jinx keeps making disasters and the guy only responds by accommodating the mess she leaves as best he can. She causes him to lose entire shipments of merchandise, and the vigilantes she kills create political conflicts that put Zaun on the brink of war. Not to mention stealing the hextech gem and making the weapon was her idea. Silco just can't say no to her, and instead of treating her mental illness, he teaches her to embrace all the characteristics that other people reject about her. Because "she is perfect". I'm not saying that what he's doing is okey, much less I'm saying that Silco is a good guy. Because with the rest of the world he is a full-blown villain. He is not even seen to empathize with the deaths of other people's children. But what is clear for me is that Jinx is his weakness and in her he deposits all the remains of his own humanity. He just wants to see her happy and accepting who she is. Silco projects into her the rejection he felt when he was betrayed by who he considered his brother and he wants at all costs to prevent her from feeling that way... rejected for being who she is.

Bruh the part from 2:58 until the end made me tear up. Seeing the parallels between when they were younger versus when they grew up was so heartbreaking, especially with the gentle song in the background. No epic music. Just sadness for what happened between them. Jinx wanted Vi to hug her back then, like she did when she found her later, but by then it was too late.

Silco is one of the most well done villains ive ever seen, he almost killed Vi because he was so scared Jinx would leave him, he was so scared hed be abandoned again, and even when he was killed by the one person he loved and cherished, he wasnt angry. He said she was perfect, and he meant it.

I love the maddening dynamic of Vi being the love she wanted vs Silco being the love she needed. In a way even though he was the bad guy he was much more stable and loved her unconditionally. Vi, even though she was her sister seemed to always want to fix and shape her into something she wasn’t. Silco simply worked with what he had and enhanced her, I think it’s a great commentary on how meeting people where they’re at is better than trying to “sort them out”. If more people held each other at face value as Silco did the world could work to right itself.

@@caspar4134 I see your point, I would even argue that she wasn’t actually happy. however I was speaking on her situation after Vander’s defeat. Vi, although she was in jail, was not present in her life. In fact, as far as Powder was concerned, Vi punched her in the face and left her next to her adoptive father’s corpse and a burning building with her friends corpses inside. Silco provided a fatherly role for her and was present in her developmental years, honing and training her in what she did best; cause chaos. Even in the beginning, Vi and her friends hated the fact she was a chaos bomb and wanted to change her into something more reliable. Silco saw her chaos as a tool to be refined, sharpened, and pointed in the right direction. As viktor observed, her work was crude but inspired. if you looked from Silco’s perspective, jinx is highly effective with a high success rate. She continually thwarts his enemies plans, steals their technology, and overall bulldozes anything in her way. He affirms her chaos as a strength. While Vi and her crew see her chaos as a weakness. As a character the fact she is a chaos bomb is her defining trait. To try to change that would obviously be very painful/harmful to a character. To quote jinx herself; “I thought you (Vi) could love me the way I am, even though I’m different. But you’ve changed, and so have I. So here’s to the new us.” Jinx is a tragic character, for sure, but the beauty of the writing is in the contrast between her relationships with Silco and Vi. Both equally wanted, both equally needed, but the values are in the wrong place. The evil character is understanding and accepting of her as a person, while the good characters are shocked and horrified, which provides the maddening dynamic. Brilliant writing.

Don't you think that Jinx would be a good personification of 'Love'? Its trying her best at the beginning, like Jinx with her 'toys', but those are just doesn't seems to work like she intended. We all remember our first loves etc. This would represent when Jinx actually breaks and so on, and so on... And at the end, when she is actually shooting that bomb, well... Love doesn't care about politics either. Do we want LOVE to be compassionate and warm like Powder? Or crazy and wild like Jinx? Or maybe a mix of both? Just a thought and I will leave it there, because the video you made me chills. Have a good day.
