Wow, Lehecka playing well. Love that he takes the ball early(on the rise) then rushes the net. And he looks to be a confident volleyer. That style of playing can mess up the baseliner players(most pro players). Congrats to Jiri Lehecka

@@KingCast65 Yes, not just FAA. Lots of the top players are uncomfortable at the net or mid court. Probably because most players are tall and can easily cover the baseline. I think FAA is so fit for a tall guy and could easily develop a touch game. What I hope is these young players push each other to where the game becomes more all court style instead of just bashing away from the baseline. The drop shot has become so useful again because players are sitting so far behind the baseline and leave themselves exposed. I know a lot of this has to do with development of the equipment and the extreme fitness of today's pro players. But,to beat Novak (probably the best baseline player ever) you need to have a Plan B, attack the mid court and net. To beat Novak from the baseline is nearly impossible.

I love that Lehecka advances and especially against a player who hits the ball hard. The Czech has excellent tennis, this school makes good players for this beautiful sport. My favorites in this tournament are Holger Rune and Lehecka, it would be fabulous and glorious if they both came and faced each other in the final of this AO 2023. IMHO!

Felix beat himself serve percentage is low. Felix stands too much on the baseline, return serve should be under the opponent feets and get to the net often. Too many mistakes. Maybe he was tired.
@tehatte
@tehatte Жыл бұрын
I don’t know if he was tired or not but I know both his FH and BH are error prone due to a liitle too much/quick movement of the wrists in the wrist-lag initiation of the strokes. The momentum is high so he can generate pace and spin better but the downside is the inaccuracy at the contact of the ball. When at the ball contact if the racket head is slightly opens up it will likely result in a deep ball. I’ve noticed he hits deep and out balls a little more often than other players.

@@tehatte I don't know if noticed that, when felix serve he face breakpoints most of the time. When the opponent serve he gets out easy 40 -0 I know felix has a much better serve than him. Felix should play the court not the opponent, measure the court, use those angles. And felix should go to the net often to get him out of his rhythm.
