My acl was partially torn at a tournament. I went to 2 orthopedists and they both told me there are many elite level athletes competing with no acl. They also mentioned that when it comes to your acl, if your knee is still stabilized you should be all good.

I'm sorry to hear about your partial ACL tear. Get well soon.

I have a fully ruptured ACL. I had the option to pass on surgery but I enjoy sports with a very high volume of coming up onto my toes and pivoting. For that you do need an ACL. I don't regret the surgery but the recovery time required is painfully long so I understand why people with different preferences in sport will bypass surgery.

I tore my ACL (3rd grade, complete tear) 7 months ago, I've started rehab immediately and gone back to weightlifting only 2 weeks after the injury happened. I came back to the mats after 3 months using a stabilizer - knee felt normal. Right now I do 4x BJJ classes + 2x weighlifting sessions a week, the knee feels 90% normal - sometimes I get some percieved instability with NEW movements, but it usually goes away quickly. Before you get a surgery at least try getting a good rehab with weightlifting - the results might shock you. If it doesn't work, the reconstruction is always an option.

I completely tore my ACL two months ago. I'm looking forward to going back to the mat in 3 months. I've been doing knee rehab workouts almost every day to strengthen my knee. I'm a little scared because it still hurts but it is getting better 👍 I need this 😂 thanks
