I really envy folks who can pull off a solid triangle choke. I'm a three-stripe purple belt, but I've never managed to make it work during rolls. My legs are thick, short, and muscular which is why it's so tough for me. Even when we practice it, I end up on my tiptoes, and sometimes people tap out before I even think I've locked it in because it's already super tight. I've just accepted that the triangle isn't my go-to move. Since I often roll with guys at my gym who are about 50 pounds heavier than me and are mostly Judo black belts and green belts, I've gotten pretty good at ankle locks and knee bars instead.

Hey James! That’s for taking the time to watch and comment. If people are tapping. That’s a good thing. But definitely we need to build a game around what feels good and works for us as individuals. Sounds like you’re rolling with some high level people. So don’t be to hard on your self. And most importantly, Remember. Comparison is the thief of joy. 👊
