Love KJK's willingness to learn! He's not afraid to put himself out there and try things for the first time right in front of the camera. And we all know his willingness to teach 😂 I was honestly surprised by how different the pull ups were. KJK's wide grip, elbows bending at a perfect 90, slow and controlled movement 👏👏 The fact that they get to mutually exchange knowledge is just so wholesome 💖

Man, Kim Jong Kook always has such fantastic enthusiasm for new challenges; it's great inspiration for getting out of your comfort zone and trying new things. I agree with other commenters that this could be the beginning of a really engaging series. I'd love to see Kim Jong Kook try various international sports, be it martial arts or otherwise.
@gamingawesome23022 жыл бұрын
He's a body builder now. It's totally disadvantaged in any martial arts when growing big muscle, limiting cardio exercises. However, his flexibility and agility is still great for that body. I'm quite amazed about that. Maybe, he can maintain them because he still does boxing frequently. That's a great model for anyone who want to be healthy and strong

@@gamingawesome2302 The flexibility of all of them, from the professionals to Kim Jong Kook was really impressive. The professionals were amazing, but you're right, considering his size, he's surprisingly flexible. Those 'warm up' stretches seemed ridiculously hard to me...some of the moves looked like borderline contortionism! How do they bend like that to grab their hands? I'd just fall over like a weeble-wobble if I tried that. I'd absolutely humiliate myself. lol

@@kathrynbrowning3642 btw. Are you in US? I'm quite surprising when seeing a Western fan like you. I believe KJK fandom is from Running Man, Turbo and his solo-singer career. So, 99% of his fans are Korean, China and Asia. I'm quite curious about your case :D
@kathrynbrowning36422 жыл бұрын
@@gamingawesome2302 Yes, I'm American. I started learning Korean during the pandemic and someone recommended I watch Korean variety shows to help my studies and I ended up starting to watch Running Man right about the same time this channel launched. I had recently began my own fitness plan a couple months prior so the timing was perfect and I was quite grateful for the way he explained the exercises. And a lot of his philosophies that get added into the videos really resonate with me as well. I do think Korean content as a whole is growing in the West, though. I actually know quite a few people both in the US and Australia who watch K-dramas and several who watch variety shows too, including Running Man. There's so much brilliant content in Korea that the Western world has been missing out on for a while, so I personally think it's great that it's gaining popularity. Where are you from, by the way?
@gamingawesome23022 жыл бұрын
@@kathrynbrowning3642 Oh, I got you. K-pop is popular now but Korean variety show and drama are quite different from Western style. That's why I'm quite curious when seeing a fan like you :D. All of my American friends (excluding Asian America) doesn't know anything about Korean variety show. My nieces, who are born in US, know and love K-pop but they don't know anything about Running Man or variety shows at all. They do see some cutscenes their idols when they're on variety shows. However, they are not interested in those shows. Running Man is quite different if you watched it from the 1st episode. It doesn't have a lot of noisy, silly jokes/skits. Most of funny moments was from a natural reaction and situation. It's very interesting to watch. I'm from Asian but I live in US now.

KJK's flexibility is no joke even at his age. Very impressive. I can picture the other RM members grumbling already about KJK learning techniques that makes it easier for him to subdue them as if his strength wasn't already a big enough advantage. hehe. Can you imagine if KJK starts studying Jiu Jitsu in earnest? Does prove that Jiu Jitsu allows a smaller person to subdue a bigger and physically stronger opponent. Pretty cool.

He's a heavy body builder now but his agility and flexibility are so great. Maybe, he's still doing boxing help him keep those characteristics. While I watch some team sports, I've never really watched any Jiu Jitsu or any martial arts at all, but I was so surprised at how entertaining I found it as a spectator sport. And it was so cool how they all exchanged their knowledge as experts in their respective fields. Everyone was so respectful and charming.

@@kathrynbrowning3642 As always, I love your comments. 🙂This was such an unexpected thing for me to watch KJK do - i.e., get out of his comfort zone and try something different. He has tried out lots of different things in his youth, bur for some years now, it has been predominantly gym. I think it is a good thing for him to mix it up his exercise regimen with different things since it would make him more well-rounded. That he took to this like a fish to water is proof of his adaptability, quick learning and his treasure trove of experience which makes things almost instinctual for him. We could see that in his heydays as Sparta; it wasn't just that he was physically strong, but that he could adapt to almost all situations because of his supreme athleticism and quick learning capabilities. Like you, I also fervently hope that this leads to a really engaging series on the channel.
