I’m a junior in high school and have been drawing since the kindergarten. My drawing skills have improved, but not in a big way. LOL. I still draw in 2-D, but I’m learning to draw 3-D in working with more depth and shading.

A lot of people say that they've "been drawing their whole life", but it doesn't really make a difference until you start studying more seriously. Find videos about specific skills/topics, practice life drawing, check out books about making art or inspiring art.

This is an amazing sketchbook! Great work. I am curious. I have been looking at many of these CalArts sketchbooks and while some are better than others, they are all pretty darn good. Yours, and many others, look like the sketchbook of mature artists who have been drawing for years and probably had some fairly advanced instruction. How is that so when this is part of your application to college? Is advanced drawing, including life drawing, a part of high school curriculum in some magic land? Most of the sketchbooks I see from high school grads, if they even complete the book, are mostly mediocre copies of anime with an occasional inspired drawing.

thank you ! at first, i def practiced by looking at pics, took a pic in public place and drew that with the time limit and after doing this a LOT, I can finally draw real life scenes with just my raw eyes, it took times to get the level of capturing moving ppl tho. (I started by drawing people sitting or sleeping) hope this help!
