1:35 is ending me because this could have been avoided. He could have had a better life. 2:33 is also very brutal. His "dad" treated him always like shit but JJ loved him bec its his dad and like most of the kids with abusive/alcoholic parents they treasure every rare second of love and affection they got from them and it is just so fucked up bec the kids deserve better. JJ has no Idea what love truly is. All he knows is pain and suffering bec the person who should love him (his dad) abused him. Now with Kie he is learning what love is and I think he feels very safe with her and this is beautiful to watch. He would do anything for the girl who teaches him what love is. Also I wonder how often Kie wanted to just tell him that he loves him and now she can just do it. I love them so much. I cant wait for Part 2!

Yes exactly! His dad uses his I love yous as manipulation whereas Kie's I love yous are completely selfless. They're a way of telling him that she sees him and loves him for who he is, not what she wants him to be

i hate the producers for ruining the whole show. they ruined all of outer banks. they didn’t give him the happy ending HE DESERVED. jj deserved the whole world after what he went through. he’s the ONLY one who really really deserved to live the life he didn’t get to as a child. he deserves so much more then just 20 short years. to make it worse all were spent just being beat by his so called “father” luke. once he finally trusted groff, he back stabbed him quite literally killing the character that needed to be loved more then anything. he thought he finally found a dad who loved him. obx will be different without you jj. rip💔

I think I've already commented here somewhere, but just in case I haven't - this is my current all-time favorite fanvid for these two. After the season 4 finale, I've been a mess like everyone else. I've been working on some fics to try and make sense of it all (and maybe fix it a bit), but when I start losing motivation, I come back to this video. You nailed all the parallels so perfectly, and this song could not have been a better fit for them! And now (even when I don't come back to the video itself) this song is what I play in the background when I'm writing these two. You've really inspired me!
