how do you make your bass samples sound so good?

I can't give a concrete answer as the samples and plugins changed for each video, but I'll try my best. I usually try to find samples with a rougher texture which gives the sound a grittier texture. This also makes the sound stick out more in the mix. If you add in a high pass filter to the bass, there's less chance that the bass will clash with the sub frequencies in the kick (do take this mixing advice/ramble with a grain of salt, I've only recently started paying mind to it and my methods are most likely rubbish). Sometimes I use a distortion plugin to fit the tone of the song or add some 'fuzz'. For example, I used Driveshaper (VST FM Distortion) on 1:54, 3:47, 10:54 and probably a few others here and there to add some funk and warmth(?) to the softer bass samples. Sometimes I just used a softer sample like in the first section of 2:49 and call it a day. Hopefully, that has answered your question. Cheers for asking!
