I am going to say in my own words what has been said a few times already. Example - your set your Bulb exposure time to 30 seconds and you want there to be a 4 second pause between shots - you set the interval time to 34 - the Bulb exposure time plus the time you want between shots. This seems to confuse many of us for a while and maybe my way of saying it will help some. Very good video - Thank You...

Thanks man. Every time I forget how to use it and come back to your video lol.

One thing I found it is you have to set the interval time three seconds more than the bulb for it to snap a picture, otherwise the shutter just stays open!

Thank you! I was trying to set up a different model of intervalometer transmitter for multiple shots. What's frustrating to me was I lost the settings if I turn off the unit. So I had to set up the stuff everytime. I also found out the camera does not take new settings if I don't turn off my transmitter and camera before reset (I thought it will jsut take whatever I set the latest as the input). They kept on firing at the old settings. Frustrating and confusing. I thought it will be smarter than that.

Thanks. Great. I found the solution to my problem; Exposure was set to 1 minute, and the interval was 3 seconds. Now I will go outside again to continue shooting Orion, now with the exposure still at 1 minute, but interval 1 minute and 3 seconds :-)

Thanks for this! I've been doing long exposure night photography and I couldn't figure out why the intervalometer wouldn't take multiple long exposure pictures in a row but it's because I had the interval set to a shorter time than the bulb setting. Thanks for pointing that out!!

Please help! I thought I was doing everything right. I want a 16 second exposure. Bulb is set to 16, interval is at 18 for a two second timeframe in-between,however I'm getting 5 second exposures lol

My settings work fine as long as I keep the exposure time in secs (30-59) but as soon as I set it to 1 minute or higher the second interval resets to 99 hrs and 59 minutes after the first shot. Any ideas?

Thanks for this. I've had this wee remote for a long time, but keep forgetting how to set it. I usually use it manually *sigh* . It's a really great wee thing and goes for ages on a set of batteries, they'll die of old age before the unit can run them down.

Thanks for the video. When using it (exact model) on Canon 5D mark III, it can only do focusing (I can see the focusing red dot is on), but never able to release the shutter. My camera mode setting is M, manual or auto focus.

I have this intervalometer for use with my Nikon D5100. It works but I can't figure out how to get the interval to work as I'd like. If I set it take 45 second subs with 3 seconds as the interval it automatically adds 45 seconds to the interval so I end up taking a shot (45 seconds) then waiting 45 + 3 = 48 seconds for the next shot. This ends up doubling the time it takes me to shoot something! It only takes a couple of seconds to write the image to the SD card to the wait is totally unnecessary. Anybody have any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong or what I can do differently to achieve the same results without the built in wait? Thanks.

Hey Scott. Did you sort this issue out? I am thinking of buying one of these.
@ScottMcDonald674 жыл бұрын
Shawn Brown I was not able to get the intervalometer to behave like I wanted. It’s entirely possible it was user error but I did throw a lot at it in an effort to correct my issue. I ended up having to use a laptop and software Astrophotography Tool (APT) to get what I needed.

I was sitting here playing with mine, and couldn't get it to give any interval between shots. I watched this video. It says "The exposure time must be LESS than the interval time"! So I tried to set the exposure time to 15 sec, and then the interval time to 18 sec. Seems really strange, but it seemed to work that way. It would take a 15 sec. exposure, then a 3 sec interval, and start the next exposure. I'm going to play with it a bit more. But that was the key. None of the other unites (of different brands) do it that way.... So it seems the interval time and the exposure time start at the same time, and once the interval time ends, it starts the sequence over again. Interesting!

I think this is where they're compensating for noise reduction which lasts as long as the original exposure. Of course not taking into account that NR can be disabled on any halfway decent camera... Haven't tested this myself though so I cannot say if there is a solution. I'll give that a try though.
@blokkadeleider4 жыл бұрын
Just tested. I have the JJC TM for Sony and that actually does what it's supposed to do with NR disabled on the camera (Sony A6000) . Took 4 5 second shots with 1 second intervals as a test. No problem there.

I want to set the interval to 40 seconds, at 40seconds to take 3 pictures 3 seconds apart, then repeat this until I stop it. Can it do this??
@Camerahoarders4 жыл бұрын
No, you can select only equally spaced intervals and number of shots.
