the jjk had a very bad ending, not just cuz it was bad but because the series had such potential and it didn't manage to capitalize on any of it. wasted potential is one of the saddest things to witness but i still think that aot is worse cuz of the fascist undertones the series in general had but also the clear intention of its misanthrope author to write a horrible ending just to spite the fans and prove his ideology (to others and himself) that everyone and everything sucks.

AOT's ending is MILES better than whatever this is. It's, at the very least, very dramatic and very good at feeling like a finale when you're in the moment. Eren's character gets somewhat butchered in the end, but at the very least we get a clear ending to every character and we see the thesis of the series ultimately rounded out. 271 doesn't even try to be an ending. The wind has been completely taken out of the sails of whatever interesting plot points the story had going for it up to this point. 20 chapters ago we were all expecting Sukuna to not even die in this fight assuming we would have a few more arcs before Yuji would get his final character development moment to truly beat Sukuna and "show him what love is." This isn't even a 'bad ending,' it's just not an ending at all. There is no comparison. No competent writer has ever ended a series with such little motivation to leave a meaningful impact and to deliver the stories thesis with a strong final act. At the very least Isayama could accomplish that.

Also, the very first result when searching up "what grade is yuji itadori in jjk" on google is Grade 1. Idk why Gege decided to make promotion systems in the manga so confusing tho

She's much stronger than Yaga, who was said to have been a "honorable mention" for a Special Grade in the manga only because he could create an entire army of his cursed corpses. I just want to point out something regarding the editor comment that says “Look Forward To Gege’s next series”. I hate to be the bearer of potential bad news, but this is something Shonen Jump editors say at the end of every Shonen Jump series. Even the cancelled series. Its just a way for the editor to say “thanks for the support! If youre a fan, please continue to support this mangaka in their future endeavors”. It doesnt necessarily mean that the creator is actively developing a new series at this moment. Im sure Gege WILL be back one day, and isnt retiring. I wasnt sure about my feeling at this ending. I feel like Gojo got a solid wrap up, the thing with the cursed user felt out of place, and Im still split with Sukuna in the afterlife. However seeing Mahito having a tantrum even in death made me laugh my ass off. Overall I gotta sit on it. Everyones moving on to live there own lives and something about the final Sukuna finger becoming a tool for good. I like it alot. I think what we as a fandom need is a series of non-canon, DBZ style movies. We could have some post-canon so we have our main 3, a flashback one with Gojo and Geto, or even a Heian Era Movie. Would be a great way to keep the series alive, with all sorts of cool new fights, villains, fun CTs, give some love to underutilized characters, etc
