I was fortunate enough to race and complete this several years. Unless you did it, one would never understand how tough it really was. Also, this was not only a race but an event for riders and spectators, unlike the lame events today. I am proud I was able to be part of it!

It looks like the suzuki quadsport 2 strokes didn't have good water proofing on the electronics, so many of them stalled.

Environmental activists shut it down because pollution and the environmental impact .just a few years after the last race in 93 unless you knew what you were looking for you'd never know anything ever happened. It suck they shut down it was a legendary race for sure .

Any chance I could buy this and the other black water 100 footage on a dvd or something? I’d pay almost anything, not kidding, I can download it off KZbin but the quality sucks. I just want it for my personal collection, I’ve always been sad more of the older pre 1990 footage isn’t easily accessed.
