Just wanted to clarify that nuclear sclerosis is different from nuclear cataract. Nuclear cataract is a broad term for any cataract that affects the nuclear portion of the lens and affecting vision while nuclear sclerosis occurs as a part of the usual aging process and it does not affect vision, so it's like an early stage that can progress into nuclear cataract. Hence, the red reflex is not altered in nuclear sclerosis while in nuclear cataract the reflex becomes significantly dim. Thank you so much for that video.

🙏🏼 this helped immensely. Now I want to know since there is no such thing as a removal of cataract and a plain lens inserted if one implants an artificial toric lens aimed at 30 cm to keep the previously good near sight and correct the istigmatism on one eye and soon enough insert a lense to fix the far sight not a toric one 1. Will the brain manage that?2. Is it ok the 2nd artificial far lens be not a toric one? 3. Is the istigmatism fixed with the prescriptions eye glasses as i always had it or it is worth the 2000 dollar investment.

Absolutely wonderful explained, I have numerous diseases, physical and mental, strokes, brain diseases etc,,you know at my eye examination,"I wished I could of said everything of my health, and eye examination, but it can relate to warmth and friendliness of doctor and maybe your own life, that you forget to mention everyone of your symptoms, you don't want a bother, you put on an act, after all,""your legs not hanging off"" but also doctors should compensate with your age pride, etc with extra consideration, time, but also knowledge, as their questions are all ready set out on page,a form, and if your symptoms are not there or your memory, and you forget to ask or tell your troubles and to conclusion, you feel just another number, yes they discovered you have cataracts, but you the patient," can live with it,as its to early to operate", its just when agencies want to know your health issues on forms , you look at your report and feel disheartened, as everything you wished to say,you weren't asked, and especially when people live on there own, they put on a act ,not to be a bother, there own health is forgotten, because its really in a sense, you glad to see someone, but you put your own health to the side, ooh me,oh I'm fine, I try to remember "make a note, tell them all of your symptoms, and was told by one stroke nurse, mustn't of put a good interview to the doctor, when told eh just get some migralief"",I could of haemmoraged,"" and as later discovered by scan at Nuffield you have csvd of the brain,if it wasn't for a good, locum doctor and the wonderful Nuffield hospital, I wouldn't of known anymore, unaware,

Namaste Some facts about cataract 1. Cataract surgery can be performed in any season. The associated myth that rainy season should be avoided can be ignored as advance cataract removal technology and medication is available. 2. We should have cataract removed whenever it starts affecting our daily life and we need not wait for it to mature as that can cause complications. 3. Eye drops cannot dissolve cataract and surgery is the only effective method. 4. Cataract is a day care procedure with fast recovery 5. Cataract surgery can be safely performed even in hypertensive and diabetic patients. Thanks

I was just diagnosed yesterday, so this overview was really appreciated. Could I ask approximately how quickly does the cataract deteriorate? I work with severely physically disabled clients, so I'm rather anxious to know how bad it'll get before it significantly affects my work. Greetings from Scotland 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

There are different types. Mine was posterior subcapsular/nuclear sclerosis in both eyes. Worse type especially with dry eye already. Dry eye they won't do surgery until it is under control. I was told there was no cure for dry eye disease. Mine were not present in 3/22 but were in 9/22 10/22 and by 1/23 got worse. Mine are fast growing. No one said anything to me about it. Get your records and read them and ask questions. I was given 6 months and my vision will all be cloudy.

Did u get yourself checked? It could be anything ; disturbance in bp,sugar levels, thyroid problem if u have one or diabetes , or it could be some nerve issue or any other eye disease, cataract is very common but without looking at the eye one can not really tell anything because it could be anything from simple allergy to any major issue
