H2Obsession, they were just having fun with the character development of the T Bob character. This time around, they decided to have Scott emulate him. From the animation of the conveyor, they did not look like coins to me. They looked like gemstones.

You’ll say that especially when you hear Scott and T-Bob only very briefly get excited about Matt Trakker’s missions, only for him to put his hand out and say no (but that’s only because he cares about his son, and would hate anything bad to happen to him; he’s aware how dangerous his missions would be, for Scott and T-Bob, hence leaves them out of his missions, especially when VENOM are always behind the missions - exactly what makes the missions dangerous).

Let me guess, Rhino and Switchblade never got damaged (obviously Boulder Hill never would have, which isn't even a vehicle) [although, in the season 2 - racing series - episode 'Battle of the Giants', I'm aware Buzzard gets damaged]. Even had the 'VENOM's Revenge' adventure pack appeared in the cartoon, that's another thing that never could (would) have gotten damaged, as it's a jet pack, rather than a vehicle.

It got retired temporarily on the show, so that the writers could promote Hondo with his Blaster II Mask who comes with Hurricane. (Called Nightstalker in it's early appearances on the show).
