Always have loved Blake - dude came into the league as someone who only scores on dunks, layups, putbacks, or dropstep jump hooks from 4 feet out - he had the look of someone who that once they lost their explosiveness would never be able to contribute in a meaningful way again. Instead of being good with that, dude developed his jumper year by year by year, eventually developed his range out to the three point line and has become a good mid range and 3pt threat - a testament solely to his work ethic and drive. Ben Simmons could learn a thing or two from Blake. Instead of assuming because you made it to the league you’re a finished product this guy continued to develop other areas of his game once his leap diminished. Much respect

Exactly man I was thinking the same thing. His work ethic alone has gotten him from being a threat from 4 feet and in only to a threat from mid range and three in a day where the three point ball is so important. What a career, indeed. I was definitely guilty of thinking back when this guy first came into the league that once his explosiveness left he’d be a poor Man’s Amare stoudamire but he definitely proved me wrong and I’m so happy about it. He refused to just be one dimensional, and clearly worked at his craft and respected his place in the league opposed to someone like Ben Simmons who acts as though he’s a finished product at 25/26yrs old and refuses to put the effort in the develop a jumper. Real happy for BG

As someone who began their NBA fandom with the BG and the Clippers, this was bittersweet to listen to. They hit it right on the head that 2014-2016 were some of the strongest years they had as competitors. Hell, I'd even argue that 2012-2013 were just as good because you could see they were starting to hit their stride (eg. career highs, consistent win streaks, etc.) And then... watching the team implode. One star after another being shipped off or asking to leave. Constant scrutiny from the media, diminishing fan morale, "Doc Rivers" and so on. Even though the Clippers are well off now -- hats off to Blake, JJ, and crew who were able to make something from nothing.
