At the end of this song after tearing up (tears), Diana explained that despite being discouraged from performing this song even by her own vocal coach and others, she decided she wanted the challenge. They felt that she was too young and not mature enough to tackle this topic and the rigors of singing this song. So said she was hopeful that the audience and viewers regard her performance as successful despite the difficulty in singing such a song. Our brave Diana!😇

Великолепное исполнение песни Дианой! Хорошая позитивная реакция! Но к сожалению иностранцам трудно понять смысл песен Высоцкого! Диане - браво, а за реакцию - лайк! Great performance of the song by Diana! Good positive reaction! But unfortunately for foreigners it is difficult to understand the meaning of Vysotsky's songs! Diana - bravo, and for the reaction - like!

👍 The song ('Fastidious Horse') is a tragic-philosophical song, one of Vysotsky's most intimate songs: Horses are a symbol of the capers and the speed of life. The song is a cry for life, but also a 'catastrophic joy' for the end. The hero of the song drives horses along a cliff over an abyss through wind and fog. He feels that the end is near and asks the horses not to obey the whip and to gallop 'a little slower'. He dreams of standing on the sidelines for a moment to water the horses. He hasn't had time to live and can't even finish his song. Although the song describes a quick jump, it was written at a leisurely pace. Vysotsky based the song on old Russian melodies with gypsy folklore. He always played his songs on a 7-string guitar. Who was the songwriter? Vladimir Semjonovich Vysotsky (1938-1980) was a Russian poet, actor and singer. Vysotsky was an extremely inconvenient poet and singer for the state. In his songs he sang about topics that officially did not exist in the Soviet Union: prostitution, crime, anti-Semitism. He is still known today in Russia, where he is considered the greatest songwriter of the 20th century. Vysotsky's funeral took place during the Moscow Olympics. The Soviet media did not mention his death. But the news spread like wildfire, and the funeral turned into the largest non-state demonstration Moscow had ever seen. In 1987 he was posthumously awarded the State Prize of the USSR. In a 2018 survey of the most important personalities in Russia of the 20th century, Vysotsky came in second behind Yuri Gagarin. The asteroid of the outer main belt (2374, Vladvysotskij) was named after him. Fastidious Horses On a rugged cliff, the very edge, above the endless chasm I keep lashing at my horses with my whip clenched in a spasm But the air is growing thinner, I am gasping, drowning, crying I can sense with horrid wonder, I am vanishing, I'm dying Slow your gallop, oh my horses! Slow your gallop I say! Don't you listen to my stinging whip! But the horses I was given, stubborn and so unforgiving, Can't complete the life I'm living, cant conclude the verse I'm singing I will stop for a blink, I will let horses drink For a brief second more, I will stand on the brink... I will perish, as a feather that the hurricane has swallowed, In a chariot they'll pull me through the snow in blinding gallop All I ask of you my horses, slow your pace but for a moment To prolong the final seconds of approach to my last comfort. We have made it. Right on time, God has left us with few choices But the why are angels singing with such fiendish scolding voices, Or it that the horse bell ringing in a frenzy drenched with tears, Or is it I the one who's screaming for my horses to shift gears? Slow your gallop, oh my horses! Slow your gallop I say! Don't you listen to my stinging whip! But the horses I was given, stubborn and so unforgiving, Can't complete the life I'm living, at least let me finish

Heartwrencing. First time I saw Diana tear up. This song is the most difficult to sing by the famed composer songwriter singer and I believe no woman has ever attempted to sing it because it requires a dramatic contralto to do it justice yet Diana not only sang it with great emotional impact but made it her own. A ranking company ( ran.com) ranked Diana Number 1 in the world in 2020 among pop vocalists. Even ahead of Demi Lovato.

"Heart attack" at age 42. I've heard about Russian dissidents heart attacks at an early age. Way too common for that group of people.
@АлександрАбополов4 жыл бұрын
And where did you get the idea that Vysotsky was a dissident? His bardic creativity was not encouraged by the state - yes. But it wasn't the only side of his creativity - he was a famous and beloved by all (including "statesmen") actor of theatre and cinema. His songs are very specific, often based on prison folklore, and he sang them in the manner of a criminal aesthetic (with the exception of patriotic songs and film soundtracks). To cheer up "his horses" he often used alcohol and drugs. Over the past years, he had heart problems constantly: the song "Capricious Horses" was composed 8 years before his death, even then he felt that this frantic ride along the edge of the abyss would soon bring him to his grave. @@АлександрАбополов From a wiki I read. But my observation wasn't about who he actually was, but as you said, "His bardic creativity was not encouraged by the state - yes." My view is "He who controls the media, controls history." My comment was meant to reflect that. I did not mean to offend the artist and please accept my apologies if you felt that way.
