The best gift God gave to Leon was the honor of being your first born. I tell parents of children with different disabilities and challenges to have more kids and give their child siblings to grow with! My parents couldn’t “baby” me and worry about my every single need because they had my two brothers to look after too! I was the middle kid and I learned to push myself past my physical limitations so I could keep up with them. Congratulations two you both for reaching this milestone. Experience tells me this isn’t going to be an easy road but just remember you know better than anyone else what your child is capable of doing so trust your own judgment above all!!

So glad he had a good day. I figured he would conk out when he got home since he does after therapy. Rough on you Jody as except for your folks, Leon is always with you and John, no babysitters, etc. So you are there for every moment of his life. BTW you may want to give the teachers a note that he needs his banana sliced as you seem to do that for him. They may think he will bite off chunks as he wants them. Pretty soon it will all settle down into a routine for all of you and Leon will be learning so much. Once he is going more fulltime, you may need to pick up a hobby like quilting or embroidery! LOL

It is really hard the first month or so they go to school. Then you will get your new routine and feel better. It would be double hard if the child didn’t want to go. Easton was getting bullied in 3rd grade. He hates going. Once we got that fixed it was good again. So glad he likes it!
