Love this song and Billie!! Billie wrote this song and directed the video. There is a video call a snippet into billies mind where she explains xanny and a few other songs. She and finneas were home after being on tour for months. They came home and went to a party with many friends they had not seen in a long time. All the friends did was drink get drunk vommit and keep drinking. People were smoking cigarettes and blowing smoke in her face. She watched close friends change into different people in front of her eyes. It made her sad and feel very uncomfortable because she doesn't do any drugs or alchohol. She wrote the last verse after a close friend died recently from an overdose. She is crying in the last verse. The video the bass the lyrics are supposed to make the listener feel uncomfortable. This is what it is all about Bros!! King Billie!! 🖤💚🔥

To me I think this song is genius. Billie has asthma and has tendonitis and tourettes so I feel she ( like myself chronic pain autoimmune illnessess) may not see the " fun" in getting loaded. Supposed to be fun but they don't remember the evening, they are too stoned. She gets them home because she is sober just drinking can coke. I believe it was Billie who shared that this was inspired by a close friend o.d.ing and almost dying. It upsets her and wanted them to understand. When you love someone it's hard to watch them destroy themselves. I think her take on video muted colors, her hair brown, her clothes muted. That she feels , why be here I disappear in their type of fun. So I just sit here being hit with second hand smoke. She is using her platform for do much. Definitely an inspiration for generations Finneas as well #billieeilish #finneas
