She got famous on Soundcloud actually. Her and her brother produced and recorded a song they called "Ocean Eyes" and posted it on Soundcould so her dance teacher could choreograph to it. It blew up over night and people wanted more. So they decided to produce an entire damn album in her brothers bedroom. That album just won them 10 grammies total. No hot shot famous producers, no big town studio. Just her and her brother.

Billie Eilish is so talented. Wish people would stop hating on her on social. She has struggled with mental health and had just come out a few months ago about feeling happy for first time. Then this song was released and people suck. The culture of hate needs to stop. So glad you noticed Hans Zimmer . Finneas her brother won Grammys as well he is her best friend and co writer and her producer. The haters need to realize that they had to be selected to get Bond song from many others. Check out her video from her channel " Xanny* . Her brother write song " ocean eyes" and she sang it uploaded it for her dance teacher for recital. It went viral. Please check out BBC studios tracks it showcases her voice in stripped down versions.

Have fun going down the Billie rabbit hole lol. Her music isn't really in any particular genre, she has "when the party's over", "bad guy" and "bury a friend" that are probably 3 of her most popular, for me anyway, and all VERY different from each other, but all equally amazing. The guy on the piano, and also singing with her, is her brother. She is a very interesting person/artist. My 11 year old actually introduced me to her music and I've been hooked ever since. Great reaction! It's cool that you recognized Hans Zimmer right away, as well, lol.

Sheena UK : I love Billie Eilish. Her voice is unique and recognizable. For vocalists under the age of 20, very few female vocalists have unique recognizable voices. Diana Akuninova is another. Now I’m going to treat all you Billie Eilish fans around the world to a vocalist who passed away recently but in my generation ( 1960s ... I’m 74 years old) had a small but worldwide cult following and I consider her the “ Billie Eilish of the 1960s.” Her name Morgana King with a celestial heavenly ethereal voice, unique and mesmerizing. Just like Billie. When a song by her came over the radio, ( today Spotify , KZbin , etc) within the first 30 seconds ( Like Billie Eilish today) you KNEW it was Morgana King and you stopped whatever you were doing to listen. Frank Sinatra called her the best female vocalist he ever heard. If I may so bold as to suggest you listen ( when you have a few moments) to the following 3 songs that will silence your mind and open the floodgate of your heart. The first 2 were created and posted by a “ Morgana fan” with remarkable imagery which enhanced the emotional impact!! And hope you add them to your playlist so that others may enjoy. Please KZbin “ Morgana King Happy Birthday 2017” ( 4:26 in duration). The song is called “ desert hush/I am a leaf” please be sure to click the 4:26 one ( the one with a photo of her with lyrics) and NOT the 4:25 or any of the others. “ Morgana King Prelude to a kiss” ( 3:49 duration) And finally one more that is to this day her signature song about a lover that promised to return but never did. “ Morgana King sings a taste of honey” ( 5:17 duration). So pleased that the younger generation who I send these songs to are amazed and profusely thank me for turning them on to the “ Billie Eilish of the 1960s” Again, if you love Billie , please take a few moments out of your day to listen to Morgana. Her emotionally impactful voice will transport you to another world. I promise. R.I.P. Morgana King

Random fact about Billie Eilish that you wouldn't realise from watching this - she has moshing at her concerts. The crowds go nuts. She is very lively in concert and has sprained her ankle during shows a few times. Her music doesn't fit in one genre. It's quite unpredictable. She is sometimes call 'anti-pop'. She got a record deal at the age of 14 after having a viral hit on soundcloud, "ocean eyes".

I love her voice. It's nice to have some variety in vocals out there; not every great singer has to be a belter and have a 3-4 octave range. Billie's strength is in her amazing vocal control. Also, both she and her brother have synaesthesia, so they experience other sensory input (colours, textures, smells, tastes, etc) along with the sounds they create. She's talked about it in interviews. Whereabouts are you guys from in Canada, by the way? -a British Columbian.

She doesn't have a specific genre, she likes to vary things each time. For example this song is completely different. Try "You should see me in a crown" (the vertical video version).
