Love JL Collins however there was a man preaching the beauty and simplicity of the Vanguard Total Stock Marker Index and never selling since it's introduction of the fund in in 1992 and that man is Bob Brinker and his show was Moneytalk. I followed his advise in the 90's and was able to retire three years ago at 53. Bob retired in 2018 and IMO doesn't get enough credit for his service.

You really only need 1-2 index funds. That’s it. Buy every week/ month. Simple

Works well!

You only need a Vanguard Life Strategy fund in tax deferred accounts. You get global diversification and automatic rebalancing. Just set it and forget it.

I like VT better for a global diversification.

I see what you mean

Did he mention the other fund? He said he recommends only two funds but did I only hear one?
@MarriageKidsandMoney2 жыл бұрын
he mentions Total US Bond Index Fund as well at 10% of your portfolio, but says you can't go wrong with 100% VTSAX if you can stomach the volatility!

JL COLLINS IS SMART but even Bernie Madoff was 1 fund with massive money in lots of things. I would never put my eggs in one basket and when you buy 1 fund that 1 fund always has one boss if im not mistaken.

He is wrong. VOO is no. 1. I researched it. What he is saying is no. 3 or 4. The no. 2 is Vanguard Growth Fund. Really VOO is #1. I have them in portfolio.
@FrugalTeacherFI Жыл бұрын
@doloresstaana, incorrect. VTSAX is the largest mutual fund by total $ valuation of invested funds hands down. Far exceeds VOO
@PassivePortfoliosАй бұрын
Sometimes VOO earns nothing for a decade (2000-2010). It's a good idea to diversify systemic risk.
