Good video, I'm starting to look into a replacement from factory steering. OEM is starting to show /feel slop when driving on road. I checked the linkages to find slop due to tie rod end movement, so it's going to be at failure point.

We replace the stock steering anytime we do lifts and also very often even on stock vehicles as the OEM steering is garbage. Rusty's is still hands down the best brand we have used and we have installed or replaced every single brand

I picked up the Rusty's steering kit and had it installed. I'm having an issue with my drag link end on the passenger side getting extremely close to the tie rod and the jam nuts are sometimes banging together. Any ideas?

Great video! I’m about an inch away from ordering this kit, but, I’m trying to find out/understand why they don’t classify this as a 2.5 ton set up. It seems as though the tie rods end are the same dimensionally as others who call theirs 2.5 ton and the OD of the aluminum is greater than some of those who call theirs 2.5 ton. Do you have any insight as to why they don’t call this a 2.5 ton?
@AllProAutoOffroad
@AllProAutoOffroad 2 жыл бұрын
It's just all marketing. There isn't one 2.5 ton truck that uses tie rods this small anyways. So those that call it 2.5 ton are really lying to you

Yes. We install the Jk version of this on stock vehicles all the time. You may need small wheel spacers to clear the wheels depending on which wheel you have

I'm looking to do heavy duty steering components on my Gladiator. It ha s 2 inch lift on it. I only do moderate wheeling. I'm torn between Steer Smarts, Metal Cloak , Rusty's and Synergy. Which one would you recommend?
@AllProAutoOffroad
@AllProAutoOffroad 3 жыл бұрын
Rusty's hands down is the only choice imo. I've broken the synergy steering and replaced many broken steer smart pieces for customers

@@AllProAutoOffroad is the track bar any good? They might just be showing a really generic photo but it doesn't seem to be like any of the other heavy duty ones unless the photo is bad. Can't seem to find any videos on it either.

Their track bar is damn good. They use quality parts and materials. I have 50 miles on my JL with 37s and tons of off-road use and I've yet to replace the bushings even.

I installed this kit with the Rusty’s stabilizer shock. It hits at full lock against the drag link one way and track bar the other at full lock. Tried inverting the shock still hitting but only to one side. What’s the deal?

Hey I know the steering system you used first and I was thinking of getting that system. Why do you think this a better system, besides the better price. Now when you said the others rotated do you mean they twisted?
@AllProAutoOffroad
@AllProAutoOffroad 4 жыл бұрын
The systems that use bolts to clamp the tie rod won't hold tight enough and will allow the cross bar to rotate. This system has been heavily abused since the install with zero issues. With the previous kit we had to constantly readjust the alignment after wheeling hard.
